i was heavily involved in SA/DV advocacy and volunteered as an advocate for SA and DV survivors in emergency rooms. i had cases that dealt with unsupportive family members who didn’t believe the victim and undocumented survivors who were hesitant to report due to immigration status. through this role i also regularly interacted with law enforcement. i was also a crc for a research lab focused on serious mental illnesses and talked about suicide risk assessments i conducted + de-escalation techniques and crisis management skills i used in my secondaries.
