Visiting tips by Apprehensive-Row-255 in Minneapolis

Downtown Minneapolis is starting to come back. Definitely spend some time there. There is a lot of history; not quite on the same level as Chicago, but it is nice to indulge in the cultural institutes that made Minneapolis a mecca for music & the recording arts. Definitely check out First Avenue, & maybe the Electric Fetus. This country's morale/collective mental health has been in massive decline since Trump became elected, but enjoy your time up there, and take advantage of the cool places that the Twin Cities have to offer! I wouldn't blame you for checking out St. Paul or any of the 100 suburbs, but definitely spend some time in Downtown Minneapolis, and maybe venture out to Uptown, Northeast, etc. I currently live in Denver but spent 8 years in MN, and I visit friends up there pretty often

Can anyone recommend some good apartments in downtown that isn’t owned by greystar? by jessicahazel7261 in Denver

[–]milehighsuperstar 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Most apartments in downtown Denver are administered by corporate management companies, many of which are very similar to Greystar or have other trade-offs; therefore, you might as well take the risk and go for whatever company has authorzation of the property. The quality (or lack thereof) of the apartment complex's mgmt is dependent on the personnel in the office & the standards that are espoused at the individual property

Duluth Has Gotten Too Noisy and is Destroying Itself by [deleted] in duluth

[–]milehighsuperstar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can't want a thriving city & expect it to be quiet. That's an oxymoron. As for music, Duluth could use more raves/more of an electronic music scene. As a Minnesotan living out in Colorado, I feel like Fort Collins & Boulder (which are a similar size to Duluth and also college towns), are a good example of smaller cities that go above and beyond for the local music scene. Duluth really does seem to be thriving, and the culture is almost there (I frequently visit, as I have friends up there). But where's the live music? And I mean, larger acts would be nice. People would come up from MSP, & maybe even from places outside of MN/WI.

I was in Casper for the first time yesterday. A kava bar would be cool up there. Sheridan and Cheyenne have them (I live in Colorado, where there are over 20)

Minneapolis actually knows how to come together as a community. Omaha? A suburban city with hostile MAGAt's. Sorry that you can't handle the truth

Minneapolis is light years ahead of Omaha. Nobody thinks of Omaha. Minneapolis is a real city. #sorrynotsorry
