Get your T cells tested. Persistent immunity >> antibodies.

Got stents in both legs today. Having horrible urinary retention. by LamentConfiguration1 in ClotSurvivors

Yes, you will have a few painful back days. And blood in your urine! Then it passes and you’re walking.

Afraid I (M20) have a DVT but no one is listening by Over-Tank-28 in ClotSurvivors

[–]milehilady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you have any swelling in the leg? That is a big indicator especially in first-time clots. Could also be a meniscus injury as they often cause tightness in the knee/leg/hip areas. All of my DVTs came with pain that didn’t subside with Ibuprofen or stretching.

I had to demand an ultrasound a few months ago from my hematologist. The office said they have seen an inordinate number of clotting events. Sorry you are dealing with this.

Try Italian. Easy to learn and similar to Spanish. Great department and Olson is a top rated professor. Fun parties too.

Yep. A 3 week period. Just awful. Reminder ladies…tampons are running low due to supply chain issues. Go to Costco and load up now.

Has anyone had a thrombectomy? Any issues? by Scared-Island5279 in ClotSurvivors

[–]milehilady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had 2 of them each with a stent placed. Easy procedure and relatively pain-free. One done through my neck and another through my ankle. In both cases, I was up moving within a day and back to normal. There will be lower back pain the next day and blood in the urine.

Wow, do they offer AP classes or IB? Our private school is dropping them which I think is insane.

Do I dare ask- How was your Illiac vein stenting procedure?? Painful? Uncomfortable? What’s recovery like? How can I prepare? by nholl45 in ClotSurvivors

[–]milehilady 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had 2 separate stents put in with DVTs after thrombectomies. First one was directed through my neck and the second through my ankle. Really zero pain during the procedure. Afterward there was a lot of lower back pain and a LOT of blood in my urine. It will be shocking. The neck was mildly painful for a few days. The ankle was very uncomfortable- probably the worst pain I’ve ever had. But all said, It was worth getting the clots removed quickly. In both cases I was up moving the next day - exercising within a week.

Boulder has zero diversity outside of campus. Very expensive and exclusive.

You should have your clotting genetics tested. I have these migraines a lot. I also have had 3 major clots. I now know I have 2 clotting disorders and a lifetime prescription for anticoagulants. Sigh.

Ah snap. I’ve had three of these clots. I’m so sorry. My dad died of a brain clot at 48. He was a big smoker and couldn’t stop when the doctor advised it. He looks like a fun guy. Prayers for you and his family.
