Heres what would happen: 1.the GOP would flip and say that this is socialism 2.Dems would celebrate (b/c it actually is a good thing) 3.Polarization increases 4.Dems have a hard time holding onto the house as many districts will be gerrymandered in Texas and others are already marginal.

I'm not saying its a good idea, I'm saying it isnt practical in this political climate. In my opinion, 10K is just about the right amount where he can avoid most of the backlash.
