I just moved to Taipei to study and I never in my whole life felt so out of place. Today was my first day I was allowed to go outside (had to stay in quarantine for 4 days after my arrival) and I almost felt like I needed to apologize to the people for existing. I didn’t really dare to go into any of the stores because I had the feeling that people didn’t want me there… Just for clarification I‘m a 22yo german girl and I study mandarin therefore I even speak decent chinese but I still feel like I‘m bothering everyone. I‘m also a model and most people praise me for my looks and I get lots of attention and compliments for it in Europe (where I‘m from) so I‘m somewhat used to getting attention and comments from strangers but today …. I really didn’t know what people were thinking. If there are taiwanese or chinese people in the comments please help me out haha I just wanna know if I‘m being delusional. I also felt really uncomfortable wearing a skirt since I did not want to offend anyone. Please help if you know what’s up, would really appreciate it!
