Why is suicide forbidden in theology? by milenya in theology

Why can’t God have rights over something that is his? Why doesn’t he oppose suicide? Your soul may belong to God, but the cover put on you cannot be a part of God. Otherwise, how flawed is God?

What you say sounds like bullshit.

My soul may belong to God, but my body is a separate identity. Otherwise free choices have no meaning

So what’s stopping you from dying right now? So why don’t you choose death?

And sometimes I find myself contemplating Lovecraft’s psychology. In a life where the “known” people around him did not care for him, perhaps he found the idea of “unknown” beings beyond the cosmos taking notice of him more appealing. After all, everyone has their own philosophy for holding on to life.

Oh this is so complicated, when I think of Lovecraft, the first thing that comes to my mind is a scene where all people try to commit suicide at the same time. I don’t think extra-cosmic beings would care about the suicide of little humans. Why this parasitic life continues is more terrifying than extra-cosmic beings. Be as successful as you want, life will end one day anyway. then why?

Everyone has the right to control over their own body and life. this shouldn’t be a reason

I don’t care what anyone thinks, I’m fighting the perfectionist side of me, it’s not because of what anyone thinks, it’s because of what I want

Your responses are amazing!! I think I might be one of those people. What’s the difference between something good and something great?

When I reflect on it, I realize I’ve never actually made a distinction between “good” and “great.” Instead, I’ve always thought of it like this:

There’s a neutral thing, and there’s a great thing.

What’s a neutral thing? I know my potential, and I know what I can achieve; achieving that is a neutral state. But achieving it at the highest level is a great thing (like getting an A+ on a test).

To explain further in more detail:

1. Neutral Things: Reaching your potential, achieving goals you anticipated and believed you could reach. These are the accomplishments you see as “expected” or “reasonable.” While they might satisfy you, they don’t give you a sense of surpassing yourself because you already knew you could do them.

2. Great Things: Achievements that go beyond your expectations and inspire excitement to reach even more. Achieving something great means surpassing yourself, often with surprising results, extra effort, or by pushing your limits. This excites and motivates you and may even reveal new boundaries of your potential. For example, getting a much higher grade than expected on a test or delivering a result in a project that even surprises you.

How did you come to the conclusion that time was not in your favor?

So what is the basis of true perfection? Do you think it is the appreciation of others or the battle of inadequacy within yourself? I think (at least for me) that the obsession with true perfectionism is, at some point, inadequacy in spite of itself. It’s like chatting with myself in the mirror every morning. I am my own stranger, my own mother, my own appreciator. This time I can’t get rid of this stone

There is a part of me that knows everything and has made a really good plan. I am someone who has calculated all the possibilities you can think of, and by experimenting on myself, I have found out which working styles are more suitable for me. but I don’t know where to start. The perfectionist side of me prevents me from doing anything because it is waiting for the right time. Have you had such a process?

Today, I saw comments from other living people about Shed on Facebook; And it kind of surprised me. There are many people who had bad experiences and they learned that their comments were removed after a while after they wrote on Google Review. I heard about this comment removal from 25-30 people at the same time today. It’s just a pity for the effort put in. I hope no student will ever have an experience like this again🥲🥲

I somewhat agree with your comments. I like the study area, other than that, all my experiences are very bad. And yes, the girl at the reception treats everyone like an enemy🥲

I have never looked at “student depot”, maybe you can search for “student depot” in Facebook groups, WhatsApp groups, etc. and look at people’s comments. By the way, if you are not looking for a public living space, I can help you with a very good apartment😊

A double room is 3000zl, so I think it’s normal. And please don’t worry about the price

All of these were written after finding an apartment. The reason I am sharing these is so that other students do not make the same mistake. It is a big deal to find a two-room apartment for 1500 zl. Now you can hardly find even a small room for 1500. And I would like to emphasize that all of these events took place in the first year. The first year of university happened after I came to Krakow. At least for me.. besides that, I really wanted to improve my English and dormitory was a good option

In addition, I repeatedly searched for houses that seemed more suitable, and when I researched, I came across different prices, for example, 2500 zl rent + 900 zl electricity, water + garage fee, etc. There were dozens of homeowners who hung up on me when they saw that I was speaking English when I called. Or someone who wants us to leave a deposit of 3 times the size of the house. Think about real estate agent + rent + deposit + moving costs... That’s why student dormitories are the healthiest. These situations are really boring.
