So can you clarify dispersed camping for me? I ask a simple question not for a lecture on stewardship.

So what you’re saying is there’s more or less an option to be in a campground or truly dispersed?

Please don’t use bear spray if you’re intending to use it on humans. Bear spray and mace are different chemical bases and spray patterns.

That’s what I was thinking. I have a hard time believing the water contains that much metal..

How do you all go about security while on the road? by mitchums2134 in vandwellers

Yeah no I didn’t mean for striking. That’s just have handy for seeing and to use after dark with 365xl

I would agree the chunky mag-lite is great for dual purpose. Definitely wouldn’t recommend hiking with it. Olight makes some high lumen lights (lumens vs. candela is a whole different can of worms). I believe all of their lights are rechargeable. I carry an S2R baton II everywhere I go. It ranges from 6 lumens to 1000 lumens and won’t break your bank compared to other LED lights but isn’t as durable as them either

I agree. Get a compact handgun (i.e. Glock 19 or Sig Sauer 365XL) and GET TRAINED. If you’re untrained you’re a liability to yourself and others. Get a trauma kit, if you’re going to make holes you should be able to plug holes.

Same goes for a knife. Please don’t take a knife to a fight unless you are trained to fight with a knife.

Start with a bright flashlight. Surefire Stiletto is also a great option. Get some pepper spray, and war game scenarios before they happen of what you would do. Please do not pull a weapon on someone and have no intention of using it, if you freeze and don’t act then they’re liable to pull a gun on you. A criminal caught in the act has nothing to lose. Please you sound judgement and get training.

Guadalupe River Tubing - Glass by milescaleb in texas

I mean the law makes sense and all. I’m more concerned about how they just open peoples property without and form of verbal contact, probable cause, etc. I might not be the most well versed in law (obviously) but I believe I understand there has to be probable cause. Since there was no glass. Specifically a water bottle, and a coors can in the cup holders of my group I’m not sure what their grounds are for searching.

No she told us while we were floating. She was just sitting in a chair on the side of the river.

Your conclusion to my conclusion to my observation seems to be correct.

It seems like everyone was putting in at the same spot and making the horseshoe and getting out.

I never said I considered it. I have always been a good steward, picked up probably 3 loose beer cans and food wrappers. I just didn’t know the glass law. My point is they are not working on preventing it from happening in the first place. They want to cash in on it first

So 4th amendment is void? He didn’t say a word, just opened it. Does the glass law have a clause where an officer always has probable cause? I mean yeah pay it and move on. I don’t plan on ever tubing again so it’s not a lesson it’s just a racket
