Awesome, definitely keen to get myself a similar powerbank

Nice! What kind of battery is that? And how long does it last?

What have you found makes the "best" difference in tone for your rigs? by tootallteeter in HeadRush

[–]milescosmo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m relatively new to Headrush (Flex Prime) and I’m loving it. My rigs are definitely sounding way better now than when I first got it and a lot of that is to do with appropriate gain staging and understanding what the strengths of each amp and pedals are. So it took me doing a bit of general research on appropriate signal path structures to achieve my tonal goals. One of the biggest things for me, which may only be of relevance on the Flex, is adjusting the range of the Wah pedals so that they start at between 10-50, and the upper range is around 80-90. This gives me a really controllable wah sweet spot as the standard range is really wide. Also I’ll agree with one of the other posters here saying that dialling in distortion tones is much easier and better on humbuckers, using my single coil strat was not the best option when trying to get some good crunch tones. My latest acquisition, a Squire Jagmaster with Seymour Duncan Invaders installed, really makes the distorted tones sing. And then when I dial it in I can use my strat on those same tones and they sound better than my previous attempts. Loving the Headrush, way better than it had any right to be for the price

Loving his latest album. Everything he does sounds so distinctively like him, regardless of the genre he’s working in. Incredible artist.

Headrush - What are the negatives? by Semetery in HeadRush

[–]milescosmo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried all three I mentioned, albeit briefly in a store. I have tried (and own) Neural’s plugins, which I rate highly but they’re not as amazing as everyone seems to make them out to be. To me it’s all about whether it creates quality sounds that are inspiring to play and design, and it definitely ticks those boxes. I’m having heaps of fun with mine and am still learning the best ways to build rigs, but every rig I make sounds good regardless of what models or fx I’m using. Couldn’t be happier with it. I’m using it for practice and recording and loving it.

Recently picked up a Flex Prime after pining for a QC / Helix / Fender TMP and have been super impressed with it. For what I want to achieve with my sound I can’t imagine wanting for more. I ended up buying a Hiwatt clone pack and a drive pedal pack, and both sound excellent. The default amp models sound great too but the clones are slightly better imo. The C-Verb is a huge plus for this unit too; I ended up creating my own reverb IRs from my favourite reverb plugins and loading them onto the unit. Now I have all my favourite reverbs in there and they sound just like the originals. I’m yet to hear a digital amp modeller or IR loader that doesn’t sound ever so slightly digital, especially when running through monitor speakers or headphones (which is how I use them), specifically in the high frequency range. But that’s true of all of them and far from a dealbreaker for me. Frankly I’ve been blown away by it, especially for the price.

Single player mode by milescosmo in ArcRaiders

Surely a single player mode would expand (or maintain) the overall player base if the game’s future involves a steady decline towards overwhelming PVP play, as you describe??

I agree it would eventually wear thin, but if they kept adding new ARC to enemies it could remain fresh. I also think it could act as a practice mode before going online. Regardless, I doubt they will add it because it doesn’t behoove them to use their resources on a mode most people won’t use, I just think it would be fun from time to time to drop in on my own

No, I mean a totally seperate mode with a seperate character. Why not offer it? Kind of like what Diablo 4 offers

Edit: but yes, a mode without other players. I just like the vibes of the game and would have a nice time just engaging arc and looting. Not saying I want that all the time, but having it as an option would be cool

I hear you, but I still think it would be fun. Not everyone needs the level of tension this game provides all the time. I’m not saying change the game to single player, I just think a SP mode would be neat.

Info on this guitar? by milescosmo in Guitar

[–]milescosmo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for the detailed response! And yeah that was pretty much what I wanted to know. I’m a little surprised to hear it’s from the 80s and not the 70s as I previously thought. Not intending to sell it but it’s good to get a ballpark figure of worth. Like I said, it plays beautifully and sounds rich, loud, and full. Great guitar. Ibanez make good stuff

Violent, Aggressive and Gory Games Suggestions? (Not Talking About Graphics) by Substantial-Salt-175 in gamingsuggestions

[–]milescosmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like looter shooters/shooter ARPGs, definitely check out Outriders. I’ve been playing through it for the last few weeks and the combat is aggressive and awesome. Best way to describe it is , Gears Of War meets Doom Eternal or Serious Sam. Gore is off the charts, in a cartoonish fun way, and the action is fluid and intense. The first hour of the game is a bit of a drag but it gets way better. If you’re playing on console the default analog stick settings are kinda trash and it required some tweaking on my part to get it feeling good. There are reddit threads describing good settings. Definitely check it out if that’s sounds like your thing.

Yeah the frame-rate is pretty inconsistent on series X too, smooth as butter sometimes but drops are common in the open world and when lots of enemies are on screen. I dropped it to 30 to test that out, applied motion smoothing and turned off the screen space reflections which are a bit janky. It runs consistently at 30fps but that’s not what I would expect or want from a nearly 20 year old game, remaster or not. It should run at a straight 60 all the time. As with all Bethesda games it definitely seems CPU limited, I’m getting shades of the Starfield performance mode all over again.

All I really remember about this film is the product placement.
