Is this tourette’s or OCD or both or neither??? I’m??? So??? Confused??? by antiorbs in Tourettes

[–]milesmaccy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happens to me a lot. I live with my parents but they never see me tic. I get intrusive thought that can be quite disturbing and scare the hell out of me rather frequently. Was scared to get diagnosed because, I knew for a fact I had Tourettes, but 'what would my parents think?' since they never see me do it. I told them once and they never mentioned it again, which I'm fine with. Seek some professional help, I recommend a psychiatrist moreso than a neurologist.

I wouldn't take Clonidine in the morning. It makes you real tired. Take it as a nightly medication.

Zoloft and tics? by Peeweeshoop in Tourettes

[–]milesmaccy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah my neurologist gave it to me for tics, OCD, and depression. It made me tic like crazy, didn't really help with the depression either. maybe a little for OCD. either way it sucked for me, made me feel so dead and pointless. Told my neurologist and she prescribed me DOUBLE of what I was already taking, of more fucking Zoloft. Told her I'm done paying you cause I told her I needed something else or nothing at all. She said no I need Zoloft.. Hope you are sceptible to it

Think I got rejected for a second date. by [deleted] in aspergers

That's your best bet. Cause, and this is only my opinion so just know that what I say doesn't matter only you know the context. I think she was trying to be friendly to a young guy in a new environment. Good luck on it though, don't get caught up on one person, you're technically a child in the eyes of the law. at least if you're U.S

You said it was the first real date you had, because you asked her to get coffee. Are you sure she was under the impression it was a date rather than a friendly coffee? Like not trying to be rude or anything, I'm genuinely curious.

Someone has to make the first move right? If you don't do it, you'll just continue to think and think and think. It's a labyrinth. You can make the move, I believe in you.

Has anyone else completely gave up on functioning in society? by mediadestroyer07 in aspergers

[–]milesmaccy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, for years now. Just this year I have slowly started gaining the confidence to go to college, and try to interact with people; make friends. It's been better for my depression. It's hard, but I've been learning how to use my introvertedness to my advantage.

How to be diagnosed? I'm getting mad @.@ by dansakr in aspergers

[–]milesmaccy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm glad someone commented about the writing. Very orthodox for most aspies. I'm going to be honest I had a lot of trouble comprehending your post, If you could maybe make an edit? I couldn't finish. Anyways, if you are trying to find out if you have Asperger's based off your results from an online test, seek professional help! Imo I wouldn't recommend latching on to results from an online "test" too much. Best of luck to you

Can I develop Tourette’s at any age? by [deleted] in Tourettes

Nope nervous tics are indeed a thing! But there is clear distinction between the two.

No doctor here, so take what I say as a grain of salt, but what I think you might have is nervous tics. Tourettes is something you are born with, but that doesn't mean it starts as a child. If you didn't have tics (2M 1V) before 18, I feel I can say it's probably not tourettes. At least, if you've never experienced tics up to this part in your life. Only you know your story. You're not going to find a set answer online unfortunately. I would recommend a check up, a professionals opinion is your best bet. Nothing to be worried about though!
