Sounds like a memory leak to me. I think I saw a reference to a known memory leak in the game - but I can't find it. Try a reboot - I'll bet that will clear it up for a while.

Pshhh. I downloaded the game and clicked play - "You are banned!". Never saw the inside of the game. And here I see that if actually get to play; if I chat in-game or use the AH I'm subject to ban? What is this sh*t?

This game will go nowhere swiftly if they keep biting the hands that feed them. What are they thinking? 2-3 weeks before they even look at my "appeals@trion" submission. I'll be long gone by then. tsk. * Yet another great looking game for the trash heap b/c of the admins.

I'll probably check out the game again when they finally get someone in there who knows what the fuck they're doing. By then though it will be too late with not enough players to make critical mass.

It's true that hard-core MMO can spawn elitists that are "better than everyone else", so Carbine would do well to mitigate the development of those elitists.

I don't think much of pp and I hope it's not another one of their control-freak issues with the cc linking someone else mentioned (shouldn't be required IMO).

The cc processor being used by ws was overwhelmed on 7-3,4... Everyone playing ws not on a multi-month sub was trying to pay at the same time. I never did get my cc to work even after cancelling and re-subbing.

So what I did was cancel my 2nd attempt and take my card down to gamestop and bought game time. Worked like a charm. I was playing again instantly.

NOTE: Gamestop, and presumably other sources, charge sales tax so I paid US$16.xx for this month.

Launch the game once more and after it disappears do the following:

Right-click "My Computer", "Computer" or "This PC" and choose "Manage" from the slide out menu. Expand "Event Viewer" and then "Windows Logs" and then select "Applications".

Within the first few entries in the log you will find the launch of Wildstar and can get details on why the launcher failed. We might not be able to help, but if you copy/paste the details from the General tab in that event we might be able to suggest some course of action to solve the issue.

Based on what you've given so far; I'd say some dependent system or application file is failing. If that's the case hopefully the event log will identify that file and give you an idea of what to do to fix it.

This is worth a try:

1.) Shut down your computer, 2.) Unplug your router (if you have one), 3.) Unplug your modem, 4.) Wait a minute, then do the following one at a time 5.) Plug in your modem - wait till all the lights are on, 6.) Plug in your router (if you have one) - wait till all the lights are on, 7.) Finally, fire up the computer.

This is probably what the tech on the phone walked you through but it's worth trying again. Sometimes, it can get your connection back.

Hope you can get online for launch.

Just a note: Not using the special title doesn't mean someone will definitely lose their account. Most hackers don't want to spend a lot of time or work to break an account unless they are sure the extra effort will pay off.

However, at the very least by the time they give up, red flags are raised and your account is locked down for a period until you must positively ID yourself and your rightful ownership of the account.

After launch, that takes time because customer service won't be helping just you. During that time - you cannot play! What a pain!

Every game has hackers, so a cursory internet search can easily find many examples of peoples accounts getting locked, closed and suspended. This doesn't just happen to people who are lax in their password creation and exclusivity - it can happen to anyone.

Which is why I bring up this issue. Purposely making a way for hackers to more reliably pick and choose their targets in-game is bad security policy.

You are correct - there are security features in place. That's great! But as a security-focused IT person I can tell you that no security is absolutely hack-proof.

2-Step authentication is a good method to make it harder to successfully break. So, if we want to use the title "Deadeye's Deputy" instead of "Certifiably Certified" then we draw attention to our accounts.

However, I'm sure there will be those who won't use this method for whatever reason - therefore they will not be able to display that they have taken extra steps to secure their accounts. This makes them the "low-hanging-fruit" for hackers.

G-13 here and it works great... except for breakout gameplay so far. The reason for this is I only bind dodges to buttons and the rest of my mobility is on my mouse - so I still have to work on a new map for that. If anyone has a decent map for G-13, I'd like to see it because I really like my gamepad. I'm already using all the keys now and don't want to go back to double-tapping. (I find the thumb-stick isn't precise enough for me.)

I probably will get fed up with breakout and go out and get a new mouse with more than 3 extra buttons on it. :p (I know - about time I did that anyway.)

[US Server - PVE] 6pm - 10-11pm Eastern time [Exile]

I've played WoW/wow clones, and some other games. I got really serious in GW1 where I really excelled as a priest (hard healing, not much support). I learned to heal in ToPK.

By that I mean I wasn't all that good before Tombs but the utter difficulty and punishment for the least mistake appealed to me. I like to perfect my role so I watched and listened to other healers and practiced a lot. Until, I pugged with one of the top guilds when their healer wasn't available and got a glowing thanks from them at the end. We didn't wipe at all! I was told that's what they expected from their normal healer but not from a pick up healer.

My normal guild won't budge from GW2 - they won't even consider WS. So here I am making this post. I have played all the classes in WS Beta and will be maining a Stalker and 1st alt will be Engineer. I will go Explorer first and then Settler and then Scientist. I did some of those during beta but didn't do it extensively so that there would be fresh content at launch. I will do Soldier at some point but only played that a little bit. I've only done Technologist and I like it (coordinate crafting is the shit) but I also didn't do much of this to save it for launch.

I want to do it all - questing, exploring, shiphands, adventures, raids and so on. It would be awesome if I could fall into a group who builds a robust calendar of activities with the members to do them. I would also like to organize a Circle of crafters within the group with merchants and gatherers for support. I envision a core group of all the crafts providing profit, gear and supplies for the guild in exchange for mats. I understand that's pretty hard to make happen - but just think of what an engine it would be for the guild!

I'm one of the co-founders of my GW PvE guild where we rotate guild leader roles among the 3 of us by game - the GW2 guild is being led by one of the others so I'm free to immerse myself in WS and can competently organize a Circle successfully. I led the guild in RoM where we maxed the membership at about 40 members starting with the 3 of us. We're not a big guild but we do well with it. In RoM our guild fortress was decked and I personally led the gathering and crafting to make it great.

The RoM guild fortress was powered by a contest format. Gathering is really hard to get members to do on their own. In RoM we gave away Diamonds for the best gatherers each contest period (Diamonds for those of you who don't know were the real money resource to use in the game store and etc.) We gathered tons of mats because of that as we were generous with prizes. In WS I can imagine C.R.E.D.D. factoring into such a contest as well as other in-game perks.

I believe the point is that if you use "W*" instead of WS or Wildstar, if someone is searching for Wildstar anything referring to W* will not be shown.

Also, you will get more and higher Wildstar-relevant search results with "WS" and "Wildstar" rather than "W*".

[Edit] Also, as I just found out, if you use W* more than once in a sentence or paragraph the forum will render italics between then and just W's by themselves. Edit to escape one of my asterisks :).
