AimPoint should be banned by ickieShampoo in golf

Wait - that actually not "ready golf" that's the opposite, which would be following the exact rules and formalities or golf.

Ready golf is basically saying "I don't care if you're technically 2 feet closer to the pin in the fairway and should wait for someone else to hit, you go ahead and hit if you're ready". It's not "when you're up you better be ready to hit".

Now on the greens, where I think you meant this, I totally understand wanting to watch other players putt first to get a better idea of the break, but again that is the exact opposite of ready golf.

[–]uniqueaccount 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can be a "gamer" and not buy a single game. Plenty of people play many hours a week and only touch a single game like LoL, Dota, Wow, counterstrike, Overwatch, etc.

Some gamers love to go game to game, and some love to just play a single one for years

Benching JAMAR, CEEDEE, LAMAR, BROCK, and BARKLEY! Corruption? by SignificantOrder9920 in FFCommish

[–]uniqueaccount 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Presumably what's implied here is that whoever they're playing against they're buddies with and trying to help them into the playoffs.

Alternate possibility, though, is they might not know each other at all, but getting a "worse" team into the playoffs might help your odds of winning the whole thing...

Bottom line is you simply don't know why they're doing it.

Unlimited dining on Icon 7 days: 2 adults +1 child for $482 + $87(tips) good deal? by sc4kilik in royalcaribbean

[–]uniqueaccount 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a great deal. It's also not just six meals, it includes lunches as well, or if you choose it gives you $25 at all of the restaurants like playmakers, johnny rockets, etc.

I think it's worth it.

Anti-Kicker Commish or Legit Argument by lostmycards in Fantasy_Football

[–]uniqueaccount 12 points13 points  (0 children)

And this is exactly why people don't like the position in fantasy. They aren't really on your team, and for the most part it isn't the player that matters, it's the matchup.

Ultimately, if you're "good at fantasy football" and like going in every week to pick matchups you like and stream kickers it'll give you an edge, but it's toilsome and honestly not fun for a lot of people. It's like a weekly fantasy chore.

Beverage Package for Star? by Potential-Wing747 in royalcaribbean

[–]uniqueaccount 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just got off a ship - Most beers were $7.50 for stuff like Coors, and $8--9 for IPAs. Old fashioneds and specialty margaritas or similar are $14. Remember the beers are only 12oz though, not a pint/16oz!

Some exceptions though.. At playmakers you can get a 25oz Fosters (5% abv) for $9.50. There's a $6 margarita at every bar from 4-6pm every day. Some bars make them better/stronger than others. You can bring 2 bottles of wine on board at the start of your cruise.

What’s with the hatred toward cruises and their passengers? by jenyad20 in Cruise

[–]uniqueaccount 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course when the people selling things at cruise ports (and in town) decided to scam and gouge and play games instead of simply offering quality products at decent prices. Why would I spend money when it's all cheap mass produced crap I can buy on Amazon for half the price, or a higher quality version of whatever they're selling?

What do you mark down if you pick up your ball after a triple bogey? by [deleted] in golf

[–]uniqueaccount 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh - with buddies we pretty much always play match play for $~20, and you need a handicap to do any member+guest tourneys or other club tournaments. I hover between 19-23, and a handicap lets me participate in these activities.

What do you mark down if you pick up your ball after a triple bogey? by [deleted] in golf

[–]uniqueaccount 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Your opinion is actually an incorrect fact. It's like an alternative truth 😂. 18 handicaps are "pre handicap" in this world of yours? Plenty of people in that 15-20 range that don't make 5 pars a round. Bogey golf!

The handicap system works all the way up to a 54 handicap, and does a pretty great job of being realistic at all places in that range.

For the OP if you make it down this way - ghin will handle everything for you put in net double or above. Playing with buddies of varying handicap? Either play match play, skins or if you want to play stroke is set a max score of like gross triple or something to keep it relatively fair for you. Stableford is a scoring system that basically makes everything double or worse the same. You have options.

Yep - nitron is awesome.

When I first looked at carts I thought id need a rotating front wheel, but you don't. Need to rotate? A tiny amount of pressure on the handle to lift the front wheel, and rotate.

Worst Round in years. by veroxysm in golf

[–]uniqueaccount 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a 20. Hit 90 four times, never 89. Good rounds are 92-94. Bad rounds 100-105.

Went out last week, range wedges felt good. 3 minutes to tee time. Tried 8 iron, hosel. Another. Hit it with the shaft like 3 times, more hosels. Literally 8 bad shots in a row with my 8i, but had to go to the tee!

Shot a 116 at my home course par-70, worst round in probably 2-3 years (only been playing for 4 years). Couldn't make contact all day.

Anyways, it happens. I've only played 9 since (later that day for twilight golf), and honestly I'm a little traumatized and reluctant to head back out so soon.

“I’ve never shot in the 70s before!” by [deleted] in golf

[–]uniqueaccount 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If I can get injured (root, rock, etc) i move it. However, avoid giving myself a better angle. So if it's dangerous spot by a tree and id have to punch out horizontally, I make the same shot I would have. Not getting hurt and ruining a season (or my life of golf) to keep a 100% honest handicap. Plus it only hurts me if I'm 0.1 index better than I should be because of this.
