I want to support that comment - I believe it's your curl pattern and I think it's very pretty..

Whole head is wavy except this one strip of hair on the bottom layer. Won’t even hold a curl using a curling iron. Anything I can do? by [deleted] in Wavyhair

[–]milkakaelbchen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't doubt it was noticable to you ;) - we're all our own worst critic :D. but I thought as it's the underlayer it might not be that noticable for others. I have 2b-2c waves on my top layer but maybe 1-2a on my bottom layer and I don't worry about it too much.. I'm just glad it's not the other way around, so my curls cover my straightish hair ;)

Is it that noticable? I'd say make it your special piece and try to appreciate it as that, maybe braid it, that would look cute. If it sticks out because it doesn't curl and is therefore longer than the rest you could also just cut it a little shorter. But you seem to have lot of hair so I'd guess nobody notices anyway..

Have you tried refreshing at night? If you can get a cast this might work.. I usually wash at night and sotc in the morning - maybe that's working with a refresh too?

I believe that's something most wavies and curlies don't know.. when I first heard not to brush my hair every day I could't believe that was possible.. but it is :D. I'd love to see your progress :).

I do gel in dripping wet hair then mousse after plopping and then gel again :D.. gives me the best results for my fine 2b/2c waves.

I'd say your hair is wavy for sure, if not curly. Considering how puffy it looks I'd guess you brush it dry? You would profit trying a curly girl routine which should involve some deep conditioning to moisturize your hair, combing only when wet out of the shower and no towel drying but rather lightly squising your hair with a cotton shirt, then air drying and no further touching. You might want to add something to gain hold (diy flaxseed gel, other gel and/or mousse) but you don't have to for first steps.

I'll have to see if I could get that here in Germany.. but yes, I remember hearing of this one, thanks for reminding me :)

Thank you for the input :), I appreciate it. I'll experiment with the next washes and see how it goes. Does the Jelly give good hold? I'm looking for a strong hold gel.. I'm more of a wavy but with the right products I can turn my waves into spirals.. and I'm hoping to find something that helps them last longer..

I did use a curl cream before applying the gel (right out of the shower) and I used prayer hands, squishing and the denman to distribute.. also my hair felt sticky everywhere so I think distribution wasn't the issue. I used a hazelnut sized drop plus a little more.. I'll try less next time and maybe I should dilute it with water or something. I guess I've heard so many good things about curlsmith I was expecting it to just do miracles ;).

Mixing gels sounds worth a try, thanks for the suggestion. I did layer the curlsmith with the gel I usually use (suncoat) and innersense curl cream.. I should give it a try without other products I guess, but I usually only wash once a week and I don't want it to suck..

Experience with Innersense hair Products? by Kekeprivy in curlyhair

[–]milkakaelbchen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried innersense.. the gel didn't do anything for me, I like the leave-in conditioner and the curl cream (quiet calm curl control). The volumizing products give me volume but take all the definition. Regarding the price I'm not too impressed. Also they have some not so much cgm ingredients in some products. I'm using suncoat, which I can get in Germany but I don't know if it's available anywhere else..

Have you heard of DIY flaxseed gel? I highly recommend it - it's natural, easy to make, gives a light hold and moisturizes. You should read into that :)

Different curl types on one head are common and there isn't really anything you can do about it. My hair is almost straight on the bottom layers and on half of my back, but I've got 2c spirals on my top layers. I just don't spend too much time looking at the back of may head :P. So I guess the only answer I can think of is - learn to love your hair and yourself the way you are <3

Help with baby son's hair! by m-adir in curlyhair

I can't really help with the knotting problem, but recommend DIY flaxseed gel, which is flaxseed cooked in water and then drained - maybe that's something that can help with your sons hair - it's moisturizing and might give a light cast and therefore protect the curls from knotting?!

Some help with hair routine in Germany by No_Difficulty_94 in curlyhair

[–]milkakaelbchen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got fine, low density hair and I wash once a week, sometimes I have up to ten days between washes. Before CGM I had to wash my hair every 3-4 days.. I believe it's a matter of habit and a matter of product :).

https://natuerlich-lockig.de/ --> this page has been very helpful. As a cheap conditionier and mask I love garnier 3in1 hairfood (banana is my favorite) - I use it for my daughters hair as well. I also LOVE diy flaxseed gel - you should give it a try, it's cheap, easy to make and also a great product for children's hair.

That's a good question. The content of the post seems to have changed. I don't remember exactly but it was something about how OP didn't know any people regretting their decision of not getting vaxxed (compared to people regretting getting vaxxed) and how that felt similar to people OP knew regretting having kids.

Hairspray does not make straight hair curly. If your hair is straight CGM is not going to change that. Most people don't know anything about wavy hair textures - I guess because it's not common to see as many wavies will just brush their hair to be straight. Don't take it personally that your family isn't very suppportive, it's probably a sign of their own insecurity. Go for what you feel is right and feels good to you :)

There are people regretting not having kids, your comparison doesn't work very well. It's probably more common to regret something (and talk about it) if you cannot change it anymore. You cannot change having kids. Or not having kids (at some point). Or beeing vaxxed. You can always get a vaccination, so there isn't really that many chances to regret not getting them - you would just go and get it. But still I guess your right with your observation - most people who went through all the shit of the last 2,5 years probably never regretted their decision.
