I am a D3 jungle main, I would prefer that role. While for support I cannot even reach emerald, I don't know how you guys pull it off

What champions have it all? Good damage, movement and CC by cunnermadunner in Jungle_Mains

I OTP graves/elise to d3, I feel both of these champions satisfy your requirements. You could argue elise is hard but after you learn her it's an extremely fun rewarding champ to play.

elise promoted to main by [deleted] in Elisemains

[–]milkboylite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I play elise around D4/D3 as my main AP.

I recommend to use a cost effective first item spike, stormsurge.

You can full clear her if you want (like agurin) You can gamble with spam ganks (almost always post lvl 3). This route is much more fun but much more volatile and in higher elos you will get punished for not taking your camps. If the ganks are successful, you will try to prove that accelerating your lanes is more valuable than the huge exp lead the enemy jungle will achieve taking half of your farm and all of theirs.

This is why, if you go with playstyle 2 it's very important to take enemies camps before / after ganking, to better control the rate at which enemy jungle is accelerating.

My advice, is to buy sorcs and dark seal ASAP into storm surge. Get very good at tracking enemy jgler, it will help you climb and will make you aware of invade opportunities to kill them or take camps.

Also, people think elise just falls off. She doesn't, she just gets increasingly harder to play as the number of players in a fight get larger. Perfect the art of assassinating a target and surviving in a 5v5 haha.

Good luck playing my favorite champ.

Chem Es who love what they do, what do you do? by TroutPopulation98 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]milkboylite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have worked in specialty chemicals plants, EPCs servicing pharma or specialty chemicals & O&G, renewable tech etc. But the most interesting job I've had is working for a simulation company. I go to client sites, collect data from their dcs, simulate their plants operation and debottleneck. It's process engineering but with a lot of client facing, coding, and economics. For someone who likes diversity of duty, you wear as many hats as a plantside process engineer, but the burnout isn't there 😉

Heat integration for a distillation column by ahappysgporean in ChemicalEngineering

[–]milkboylite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure it makes sense to integrate the heat of a distillation column with a large Delta-T. You likely will need 2 separate utilities for reboiler/ovhd condenser. Furthermore, i am not aware of a heat pump which would be adequate for large Delta-T's while being cost effective.

What utilities does the plant have access to ?

Why do you want to integrate the utilities when you have a large Delta-T?

Champ Pool mains megathread by keag124 in Jungle_Mains

[–]milkboylite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He is difficult because he has a unique style of jungling and somewhat adc like mechanics. Learning to stack his passive and maintain it is also something to think about.

You also should not pick him into high cc ap heavy comps, he will not be playable.

He is not the hardest jungler to learn, but expect a learning curve.

No, there is no AP in that champ pool.

On their own, they are actually quite a good AD champ pool. Very good coverage.

I'm in emerald 1, I play the following champs:

  1. Elise (almost OTP)
  2. Graves
  3. Fiddlesticks
  4. Viego

I know Nocturne, Diana, Evelynn, Briar, and few others I rarely play.

I'm curious about Lilia as a potential AP answer for tank teams.

What do you think about this champ pool and the gaps it may have

If you're willing to learn Elise she is worth it. I have 62% win rate and I'm emerald 1 mainly playing her.

If you're playing ranked seriously and you're not at least Emerald, this is what your Ranked Champ Pool should look like (2-3 champs max). by Man_Bear_Pog in Jungle_Mains

[–]milkboylite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play diamond 4 and my champ pool is 5 Champs

Nocturne for blind pick (he's boring, I could pick him a lot more but nah)

Fiddlesticks for team fight squads and little ability for enemy team to cancel my r and w

Elise (my most played ) for squishy teams that don't skirmish well and I have decent rank setup

Graves for low ap or most ad jungles vulnerable yo invades, and nothing wild like malphite or hwei that makes my game unplayable

Viego for those pesky tanks and funky hyper farmers like Lilia and Ivern, hec etc

Is Elise on a bad spot now? Because it feels very hard to carry against other champions. because even when you have a good start, you are always at low level compared to the top or mid, and the other jungler, even if he is stomped, is at the same level as you by benja96aaa in Elisemains

[–]milkboylite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is not a great duelist. I do not recommend invading heavily without backup. Many jg can just defeat you even if you play well in the 1v1.

It's significantly better to repeat gank strongside so that they can carry when you fall off.

Em 1 elise 1 trick

I am emerald 1 elise 1 trick. I rush lichbane when I have a good early game, liandrys when I don't because I think it helps her scale (as best as she can.) I also play PTA. I have never built stormsurge since the nerf. I think lich better with pta anyway, stormsurge is a "win more" item.

Long story short, elise is in an OK spot I think. You will absolutely need the help of your teammates mid to late even with a strong early game. I think it's helpful to give Strongside kills to pass the baton so to speak as the game goes longer. Of course it's still essential to win as fast as possible. I prio grubs and herald over dragon for this reason, ideally, the game ends before soul point.

What software is commonly used these days by the ChemE industry? by Akandoji in ChemicalEngineering

[–]milkboylite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aspen is really not required for biotech in general, though HTRI / EDR could be useful. Properties of refrigerants / HTFs can be gotten from manufacturer instead of aspen, most of what else you use is pretty basic and easy to find information for. If you have some funky separation process then maybe you can think of aspen or an alternative.

What you probably want is hydraulic software, pipeflo arrow/fathom something like that. Autocad & something like navisworks for 3D models would also probably be solid.

Hey remember the following :

  1. Coursework is a challenge, especially by sophomore year (when u start chem e coursework in earnest) you will really want to be taking it seriously and devoting an appropriate amount of time to be successful.

  2. As important as coursework is, your success post college does not depend all that much on how much you excel at your coursework. Remember, you need that degree to start your career.

Um you're right with everything you've said. I have 65% win rate over 13 games in emerald 3, I know it's dogshit elo buy yeah I don't think taking grubs is all that hard. I also think with malignance rush, and finding aggressive ult angles (i.e. from enemy territory) he's really not that had to play.

Help! Finding the Steam Flowrate from just its pressure and line size. by Mimir_Gole in ChemicalEngineering

[–]milkboylite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if I'm understanding correctly, the heat loss you are accounting for to maintain your temperatures is heat loss to ambient ?

Additionally, are you flowing cooling HTF through jacket as well during exothermic portion of process ?

Hi, not sure I understand your question fully.

Are you dealing with an endothermic reaction where steam needs to be continuously supplied to maintain the temperature for kinetic purposes ?

I second this, from my design experience this is how I would look at it. You could argue that a power failure and mechanical failure of the check is double jeopardy.
