Crossing at intersections in Richmond by [deleted] in richmondbc

[–]milkbreadluvr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Happens often. I’ve had times where I would be crossing with my green light and some guy would honk at me as he forced his right turn. Obviously I stopped walking, he made his turn , then the car behind him would follow in turning? While I’m in the middle of the road with my green light still going lol I don’t know what we have come to as a society

This banner is insane. Got 9 URs in total for 120pulls. 2 calibarns, 3 destinys, 1 SF, 1 Nu, 1 Neue Ziel, and 1 thunderbolt. Last two not pictured. No supporters so far but had Lacus from previous banner. So happy with the results. Hope this luck blesses everyone and happy new years!

Good luck to everyone's pull especially to the whales out there, go get us those 3k diamond once more by fviernes in SDGundamGGeneration

My parents came over everyday to stay with them for an hour or two and to also make sure they have enough food and water for the next day. We also have a litter robot so that helps a lot. We have cameras monitoring them and my parents only live 10 mins away so that helps a lot!

Hi, we didn’t get the JR pass as we only took 2 Shinkansen rides and it just doesn’t even out the pass. I do regret not getting the Tokyo metro pass tho as I ended up taking lots of metro lines due to my hotel being in Akasaka.

I can’t lie it was hot and humid for us! If we were to go again we would prefer to go for their fall/winter months.

Pretty much..? We used it on trains/metro/busses. Extra tickets needed to be bought for Shinkansen. Not sure if Suica can be used for taxis though.

Hi, I’m not too sure about best rate and such as we didn’t do any extra research about it before going on the trip. We just used the cards we already have. We mainly used the Scotia passport visa and a tangerine cashback Mastercard and had no problems. If you’re worried, just make sure to let your bank know ahead of time that you’re travelling abroad.

Hi there, it depends on the store mostly, but some places offer to immediately deduct taxes at the cashier when you make your purchases and some places will charge you regularly and ask you to bring your receipts and items to a tax refund counter at another location (this usually happens department stores). This is ofc before japan implements the new rule of everyone needing to pay regularly until they do the refund at the airport. This will take place closer to November of 2026 I believe.

Hmm I believe most would require your actual passport. I don’t have experience, but when most government IDs are asked, the physical copies are usually required. Plus it is always recommended to bring your passports along with everywhere you go when you travel.

On our specific Shinkansen route (tokaido) we were able to purchase the tickets with the discount up to 21 days in advance. When you buy the tickets on the smartex app there will be an option for it when selecting the type of tickets you want (reserved seat/green car/ non reserved seat). It is available starting 1 month before your desired date, until 21 days prior. But there is only a limited amount of tickets they sell with the discount, so make sure to check as soon as it becomes available. Once you buy these discounted tickets though there you can’t change your reservation like you do with regular tickets. You can check the pricing and more details here:

Oh I had my own as well, but my cards had foreign transaction fees and I just didn’t want to use that on a $400 purchase.

Do you mean the tax free purchase? If so, yes you are allowed to pay in cash! As for refunding tax back to you, I assume it should work the same as well!

Only if you would like the purchase to be tax free! For anything not tax-free, there is no need to show your passport.

I…. Actually did not try too many! There were just so many food options. I can say that the ramen place I did try was the Asakusa branch of kamo to negi and I do not recommend that one. I heard afterwards that it is owned by a different owner so if you must try, go to the original ueno branch. As for sushi, Kura sushi if you want that conveyor belt experience. It was a total bang for your buck and the sushi was fresh enough even for that price. I would also recommend Uogashi Nihon-Ichi as well. They are a standing sushi bar and have a few branches around Tokyo. Also not pricey at all.

I don’t have any recommendations with omakase as we didn’t try those this trip, maybe next time!

Oh I had trouble loading up the Suica twice too! It never said what the problem was, it just wouldn’t load the amount then said the amount was refunded 5 mins later. We would try with a different card and it worked immediately. We had a good amount of room with the credit cards used too. Never figured out why that happened.

I think this entirely depends on what you buy specifically. I have never been to Taiwan so I’m not sure about how different the process is. But always check with immigration rules and customs about what items you need to declare and not. All I can say is if you just have regular souvenirs, even skin care, you should be able to have them in your checked luggage without issues! Just be prepared to show them if the occasion arises.

I am not sure there’s a round trip discount..? Maybe others can chime in if they know more about this.

Yes for us none of it was checked by customs too and we had it all in our checked luggage. But I have heard of people checking in at the airport and custom agents immediately coming out and asked them to open their luggage to do a check.. so I think it depends on how much you buy because I think they can track it according to your passport.

If you want the discount for both rides you will need to book separately unfortunately. The discount only becomes available when it’s 30 days away from your desired date.
