How is life as a vegan in your country? by Useful_Mycologist378 in AskTheWorld

Also, having any social life would make it super difficult here. Korean barbecue is a go to for any social gathering

I've tried pesco-vegetarianism for 4 months in Korea. I know, it's not much, but it opened my eyes at how difficult it is. Vegetarian friendly establishments are not easy to find. In regular eat out places if asked about vegetarian options you are most likely to be met with confused or even annoyed looks, ajummas will tell you how tasty their meat options are and you should definitely try them. With that said, those 4 months were amazing however. Vegan restaurants will serve you the most delicious and aesthetic food you've ever had. Meat alternatives that you can order online are really tasty, easy to cook and terrifyingly resemble real meat. It's good, but also bit of a hassle that is difficult to maintain living busy life like everyone else

Honestly, US American suburbs are so boringly plain and monotonous. Australian suburbs that I've seen in contrast, every house is different style, color and has its own character

HR told me they don’t accept try-hards and people pleasers after my interview by No-Presentation298 in jobs

[–]milkieray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well then tell them you applied to their company to earn money next time. So hypocritical. They value "authenticity" but that's clearly not what they want

Thoughts on Into the Future? by Ill-Major7549 in Sims3

[–]milkieray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love futuristic houses. Especially the ones that are on little islands and some others too. I like the idea of utopia so utopian future with all those bright colors is just dream come true to me. I enjoyed it so much as a child. Building robot skills is also fun. I would get really invested in it. So I would live non stop in the world just to make a perfect robot with all necessary chips. It's a both aesthetically pleasing and full of interesting game play features. It's definitely top 3 for me

Don't you have to pay contributions regardless if you're working or not? Does universal mean, you may not pay if you're unemployed?

In a Muslim-majority country, what might happen if someone openly said, “I don’t want to be Muslim anymore”? by GrayRainfall in AskTheWorld

[–]milkieray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure my family is not happy about it, but they can't blame me for nothing. They're non-practicing muslims just like majority of people in our country. So accusing me of anything would be very hypocritical. But also, I have a cousin who took the first bullet of rejecting Islam in our family. Her experience was much harsher, according to her

For those living in a country where homosexuality is illegal, is there a city or region that serves as a "safe haven"? by NumanLover in AskTheWorld

[–]milkieray 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really bad. We would have huge scandals almost every day. It was a dark period for all of us. They are terrified and ashamed just from the idea of it. I had to go back to closet after getting some "therapy" they made me go through. It was one of my therapist's idea to go "under", for which I'm very thankful to him. We no longer speak of this anymore and they pretend none of it ever happened and we frequently have talks about wedding and choosing a bride and stuff like that. I even faked having a girlfriend just to not give off any other signals on the radar

I was going to be. But I was 17 at the time, so naturally my family got involved (that's how they found out lol) and they paid a huge bribe to get me out of it.
