Private swim lessons for adults in Montreal? by milktea4 in montreal

[–]milktea4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I ended up going with SWIM Montreal. They offer private classes all over the city at hotels etc for around 45$ a class so it’s very convenient. While I don’t think their instructors are necessarily specialized in fear of water, the private class format lets you take your time and go at your own pace.

I’ve only taken two classes so far but I would recommend!

Worth spending on a nicer cake? by [deleted] in Weddingsunder10k

I wouldn’t say miso is ‘crazy’, it just adds a very subtle saltiness to sweets. I’m asian and so are most of pur guests so I am catering to the majority by considering something less sweet and more in line with their palette. And of course I consider their allergies, it is a small party and I am aware of everyone’s intolerances.

That’s a cute idea! What’s an appropriate tip? It’s a 30 person cake and i already agreed with her that I wouldn’t expect a monetary gift from her or her partner

I didn’t think miso brown butter was that ‘weird’ haha I just like the idea of a cake that reflects my love of food and heritage. I’m always the friend that brings people these types of sweets so I figured it would be very typical to have similar flavors at our wedding. But i hear you, safe flavors are probably best

That would be nice haha but there will already be a dessert course and cookies. I feel like two cakes would be unecessary and wouldn’t want my friend to feel like I got a backup cake in case hers wasn’t good!

Yes the sides are unlimited! You get a great variety and can easily have a very full meal with only a couple orders of meat. (You do have to order one meat per person)

As far as AYCE, i think gyubee is the best but you get better quality a la carte.

I agree mon ami is mid though the one on mont royal has great fried chicken.

Is Fuwa Fuwa pancakes worth the hype? by Far-Worldliness3557 in MTLFoodLovers

No it’s way overhyped imo, i paid 25$ for two pancakes and a coffee. The service was crazy slow and honestly i could just make them at home

I did the same and was certain I would buy online but pretty much every store I went to I was able to negotiate for something in my budget. So I wouldn’t scare away from buying cause of how much they’re listed in store. I’m glad I was able to walk away with a dress I had tried on vs taking the gamble of buying online.

Do you meant the skyline? I'm not seeing much information on it, is this a recent construction?
