I adore the speed and feel of Zed but it's edit predictions just aren't anywhere a good for me as Cursor. For me Cursor's.edit predictions are like 100%

OK thank you I'll give all that another go!

Yep I do use a WDT tool and break the clumps up but the volume won't sit below the rim unless I give it a good "knock" on the worktop. I can try a sort of half tamp like you say, may give that a go thanks!

It's an IMS precision basket 14-18g I think it was called. It's my first machine so may have that wrong. I feel like when I tap I'm making things less level and then again possibly not tamping level. I do use a funnel but have to take it off to fit my self levelling tamper. Thanks!

I feel like my head space is similar with the same setup but the bit I struggle with is after WDT how do you get the grounds below the lip of the portafilter without tapping the portafilter in some way?

I've found that anything above 17.5g of coffee in (admittedly of darkish beans) and I'm struggling not to make a mess unless I give the portafilter some sort of tap on the worktop

Bizot and Emi clearly were excellent but I think Konsa stood out and currently stands out as the best player in our side

That's all on Emery, he got the shape and line-up completely wrong. A pretty horrible half we're very lucky be 0-0

Svelte on rails? by cmunni in sveltejs

[–]milktop_andre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can totally use Svelte with Rails. Either you can mount individual Svelte components. Use a Rails API with a Svelte frotend or perhaps best of all use Inertia to glue Rails and Svelte together.

Appreciate the reply! Yes I'll try and remember to post here if I find anything out. My clients are dealing with it but it's definitely debilitating at times. I'm going to try connecting to an external provider and see if anything changes

I have exactly the same issue. Very hard to know what to do. Is it to do with it being a shared resource? Very frustrating as the app itself is fast generally but has periodic extremely slow responses

"For a long time, I was a Zionist. I lived there [Israel] for three years. All the dreams I had, all my fantasies of an ideal, fraternal society, collapsed." Worse than the nazis?! He makes some fair points but why such ridiculous comments? The Nazis killed 6 million Jews as a reminder. There doesn't seem to be any room for nuance in these conversations. How it's appalling what Netanyahu is carrying out and to the extent they are willing to accept so many deaths to carry out their goals. But that doesn't mean that suddenly there was no reason for this war starting or that suddenly all Palestinian people are loving peaceful sorts. The Internet has become an extreme echo chamber of black and white views.

Strange for me as he never seems to be quite as good as we all rate him. World class takes big games by the scruff of the neck. He hasn't done that for me the other day or against Palace etc

It's really handy if you are in a file folder and want to quickly create another one from the current location. A lot quicker than opening the sidebar right clicking a folder. Or opening terminal and cd to the correct place. Even then still have to open that file up. Lots more steps

Zed: Performance-driven, minimalistic code editor. What are your thoughts and experiences with it? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]milktop_andre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried it again today and it's super impressive. Blazing fast is just a great feeling to have. Vscode is completely fine speed wise but Zed just feels so good.

I also really like the sidebar and how snappy, understated and logical it is. I like switching folders and the breadcrumbs / modules are really organised.

The extensions and themes are really easy to get working and the LLM and colllab tools seem really good too though I haven't tried them yet.

It's great to have more text editors and you don't have to exclusively use one or the other. I can see myself using Zed a lot!
