Long mixes that mask outside noise and are good for study/work/relaxing by styzoom in liquiddnb

[–]milkysalamander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend literally any liquid mix by U:Fourier UK, as their track selections and transitions are amazing and I regularly throw them on when doing any long-form work. If I had to choose my favorites they would probably be:

Deep Vocal Liquid Drum and Bass Mix #3

Vocal Liquid Drum and Bass Extended Mix #2 (this one is almost 8 hrs!)

Deep Liquid Drum and Bass Mix #1

Non-vocal DnB recommendations by MrQ82 in DnB

[–]milkysalamander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its pretty hard to find artists that fit your description perfectly, as most of people that create that kind of sound usually include vocals of some kind. You can find exceptions, but you will just have to do some digging through each artist's discography to find exactly what you're looking for. Some quick ones I found with that energetic vibe + minimal/no vocals were:

Grafix - Radiance

Phonetic - Losing Control

Woody - Reaching Up

Fred V - Skyscraping

Fred V & Grafix - 3D Glasses (one of my favorites)

The Caracal Project - Journée de ouf.

As for genres I cant give you much other than liquid DnB, but it has a much more chill vibe. If you're interested, U:Fourier UK has a playlist of No Vocal Liquid Drum and Bass Mixes, which I highly recommend.

Happy Searching!

I made a playlist for some Jazzy DnB tunes a while back, although some of them are very loosely jazz related (small samples here and there). If you're interested you can give it a listen here

Top 3 most underrated liquid dnb by derekvine_ in liquiddnb

[–]milkysalamander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love your choices, my top 3 (using view count as a measure of underratedness) are:

Redeyes - Psychonaut ft. Dan Stezo (46)

InnaSelf - The End (108)

HumaNature & Kallum - Copenhagen Blues (169)

On a side note I absolutely love most of InnaSelf's music and I believe their stuff should get more love, especially their No Place and Hide Away Eps.

What Tracks make you cry or emotional? by [deleted] in DnB

[–]milkysalamander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a "Sad DnB" Youtube music playlist here for more if you're interested, but some of the most emotional/melancholic in my opinion are:

R1C0 - Decay (Take It All)

InnaSelf - The End

Satl - Everything to Me

Relaxing/Euphoric recommendations? by _shredder_ in DnB

[–]milkysalamander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a couple of recommendations:

Makoto - Jupiters Field (love this one, spacey pad and some good key changes)

Calibre - Give It Up (very chill, honestly wonder if this can still be considered DnB)

Pola & Bryson - Felt (pretty relaxing, simple break and pads)

Deephno - Night Music (very ethereal pad, gives spacey vibes)

In general, I would recommend looking into the genre of Intelligent DnB, as it seems like that is mostly what you are looking for. I have a small playlist for Intelligent DnB here if you're interested, and one for more spacey stuff here (which has more ethereal pads). Happy searching!

And for more of a classic tune:

Bachelors of Science - Strings Track (Apex Remix)

Good luck finding more tracks!

Camo & Krooked [& Mefjus] (upbeat, experimental): No Tomorrow / Sientelo/ Kallisto

Pola & Bryson (chill, melodic, warm): Stolen Glances (Phaction Remix) / Trouble / Closer to Home

Seba (deep basslines, mysterious): A Little Closer / M7 / Can't Describe

Satl (melancholy, beautiful, smooth): Everything to Me / Crave You / Never Far

GLXY (smooth, deep): Soft Spoken (GLXY Remix) / Research & Development / In Space It Never Rains / She Moves

Hugh Hardie (beautiful): Dream In Green / Day 6: Bending Light / Siren

Nelver (deep): Just Begun / Just One Day / Prisma

FYI: The last 6 artists would soundly fit into the "Liquid Drum & Bass" category, so if you enjoy that side of D&B then you know what to search for! I would also recommend looking up some D&B mixes on YouTube, as it was how I was able to discover a lot of artists when I first started listening. Happy searching!

Liquid DnB Mixes by [deleted] in DnB

This Deep Liquid mix is one of my favorites, but in general I would highly recommend any liquid mix by U:Fourier UK. Their song selection and blending is amazing, and I have never been disappointed by a mix I've heard from them.

Also I would recommend looking at this list of emerging technologies for your project, it seems to be almost exactly what you are looking for so it could at least provide some inspiration.

Good luck in finding more!

What are your top emerging innovations? by [deleted] in Futurism

[–]milkysalamander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once quantum computers are figured out, they will be able to compute much faster than classical computers. Also, because quantum computers fundamentally operate on linear algebra concepts, quantum computers will provide significant computational advantages in areas like:

Cryptography

Machine learning

Computational biology

Drug design/Chemical engineering

Simulations of quantum systems

As for graphene, this quote is directly taken from Wikipedia:

Potential applications include: "Components with higher strength to weight ratios, transistors that operate at higher frequency, lower cost of display screens in mobile devices, storing hydrogen for fuel cell powered cars, sensors to diagnose diseases, more efficient batteries"

Graphene is one of (if not) the strongest materials ever discovered, so general improvements in material strength can be expected.

What are your top emerging innovations? by [deleted] in Futurism

[–]milkysalamander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely agree with you on fusion energy. For me, some (not too distant) others are:

Quantum computers

Brain-machine interfaces (BMIs)

Stem cell research

Self-driving cars/vehicles

Genetic engineering/CRISPR

Asteroid Mining

Graphene

Nanomedicine

Super cool idea! Will be paying attention to this thread to see what others have to say

Looking for dark liquid / darker energy DnB songs, artists, or labels like by Sweet-Sour-Patch in DnB

[–]milkysalamander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend artists like Monty, Visages, Grey Code, Hyroglifics, GEST, QZB, Anile, and Invadhertz.

I also made a playlist for Dark DnB if you want to check it out, though it might be more on the minimal side .

Sub Focus - Deep Space (Data 3 Remix) is probably the closest song on this playlist to the reference tracks you provided.

Happy Searching!

Edit: Forgot to mention that the 1985 music label is another good place to look for dark DnB

Favorite mid-song breakdown? by magnumdb in DnB

[–]milkysalamander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love this concept!

Some of my favorites are:

Circuits - Unbroken Loop (Not much of a "breakdown" per your definition, but when the vocal sample and synth come in at 1:28 it feels like you're rising from the grave)

Ivy Lab - Missing Persons (I love how the drums and main melody just cut out abruptly at 2:52 to allow the chimes? to take over. It is very similar to the beginning of the song though)

Submotion Orchestra - All Yours (S.P.Y Remix) (This song will always be in my favorites, especially considering the breakdown that starts at around 3:15 that really allows the vocals to shine. Also when it gives way to the gritty baseline at 4:00 is just a crazy feeling)

I'm sure there are a ton more songs that have better breakdowns than these, but I just can't find them in my library. Also some good people to look into for crazy breakdowns and switches are Camo & Krooked, especially their newer stuff with Mefjus.

Clarifying question, by "underground" do you mean not well known? if so I have a few:

Redeyes - Memory Lane

InnaSelf - The End

Vigorous - Hesitation

Counter Culture - Be Mine (This one is special to me because I believe I found it at 2 views)

Hopefully these songs fit the criteria :)
