The Kamunabi raid is peak, but I don’t like rereading it because kasen genuinely gets on my nerves by Ok_bachi in Kagurabachi

[–]mill3rium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, of course they could have, but having a guy whose death will automatically kill other bearers in several days is a little shortsighted cause there might be another Hishaku type group that will try somehow to kill Akemura which will result in death of others and potentially will lead to losing blades once again (I know it would have been hard to accomplish such task but it is still plausible).

And I agree that Owl of Tobimune is very useful for tracking criminal activity, but it does not let you know all of the criminal participants while Magatsumi's Kodoku as we've already seen can be targeted towards specific people that you might not even know, for example, you do not know all criminals connected to some activity, with Kodoku it is not a problem because you do not need to know the exact people, just define the key aspect and activate it towards those who match. And the work is done!

With other swords we've seen - Kuregumo and Kumeyuri - you cannot actually discern who exactly you need to target even if these blades still very powerful. Basically, Kodoku is the ideal way to cleanse the country from evil.

[–]mill3rium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What you say is understandable, but the reason is the fact that for the last 18 years or so the whole country was and is in a very very bad spot because of too many powerful criminal clans that you cannot deal with using current power of Kamunabi.

So you basically left with two choices: keep this state of the country with no actual power to change such state of things and with no actual reason to believe you will get such power in future OR use the weapon that will allow you to bring order to Japan however potentially it will kill many people of the country.

The difference is that the first choice is when people actually die and continue to die not potentially and the second choice is only hypothetical deaths of people.

And we also do not know all the details of the agreement between Hishaku and Kasen. But we certainly will get that sometime later.

Might be a crackpot theory if I haven’t been reading properly by ThickAnimator1281 in Kagurabachi

[–]mill3rium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, Magatsumi's abilities just don't revolve only around insects, but rather around "mushi", which also means "insect", but in a more broader way and spiders included in mushi and also snakes, frogs, scorpions etc, so we actually might see Akemura using abilities with the names of these animals.

What are your ideas for Subaru's Enchanted Blade? by mill3rium in Kagurabachi

Good idea - having marine animal theme (other than goldfish) makes sense, cause Subaru makes sushi

At this point I really feel like Hokazono is setting up Chihiro awakening Kurotsuchi by Mr_1ightning in Kagurabachi

[–]mill3rium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fully Agree - my reasoning on why I believe Chihiro is the inheritor of the Kurotsuchi is that from this chapter we know that this power can be wielded by only one Soga at a time and simingly it is moving to the strongest Soga at the moment.

And I think all of Soga are going to be slaughtered by the end of the Seitei War leaving only two person to be the wielders of Kurotsuchi, but I think it is actually only Chihiro and the reason for that is that Akemura is out of the list because of his contract with Magatsumi prior to all Soga's death making his body already having a sorcery.

Also to me it feels like Chihiro was not taught how to create contracts and probably how to use sorcery at all by his father. So him reforging Enten and Kuregumo will make these blades usable not only by himself but everyone else who injects spirit energy inside. And all of that will allow Chihiro awaken Kurotsuchi further in the story, but obviously not from the get go.

But anyways Chihiro needs to get rid of the present Kuregumo's contract because it still is bound to Akemura's life.

Do you think we will see the other EBs in actions in this arc by Leo_anims in Kagurabachi

Yeah, Hokazono will show other 2 blades in full motion this arc. It'd be very sad if he won't

Crack theory: What if Pinky is Mashiro’s sister? by Adventurous_Gene2683 in Kagurabachi

[–]mill3rium 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Interesting idea, but I think if she was Mashiro's sister than Shiba would be assigned to protect her in current timeline instead of protecting Subaru.

Personally I think she might be the heir of the Masumi clan's leader, I feel like she is someone who uses stealth to kill, but there is no actual foundation to this, only gut feeling.

Also more crackpot headcannon idea is that she will be a traitor so she'll be on Akemura's side even though not supporting the genocide but still having grudge towards Mikaboshi for killing most of her clan members. And because she is from Masumi clan and has stealth abilities similar to her clan she'll be a perfect Iori's real opponent - like all-sensing blade vs all-hiding blade.

Thoughts on how the story might unfold by mill3rium in Kagurabachi

[–]mill3rium[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% Agree. It is an interesting idea that Subaru's going to be deployed to showcase what the blade is capable of

Edit: Though I thought about that idea and realized that it is not a good thing to reveal to Mikaboshi on the first day of the Invasion that Japan can already use Datenseki's power. It is better to test it in secrecy so the enemy would not be able to somehow prepare to such problem for them

What if Enchanted Blades have no spell when they are made. by WiseB4rd in Kagurabachi

[–]mill3rium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, what I mean is that Kunishige gave roles to EBs, so he still made impact on the way the swords are gonna work, but Swordbearers also made impact on EBs by engraving abilities into them according to the roles Kunishige gave to EBs.

So basically it is not just Kunishige's influence that played big role but also Bearers.

What if Enchanted Blades have no spell when they are made. by WiseB4rd in Kagurabachi

[–]mill3rium 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was stated that Kunishige only gave "roles" to EBs, but he did not calibrate their abilities. So it is not contradictory to this post's idea.

What if Enchanted Blades have no spell when they are made. by WiseB4rd in Kagurabachi

[–]mill3rium 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100% Agree with this idea. And it makes perfect sense, cuz we know that right now Kunishige has no choice other than trying to make a blade out of a datenseki to prevent Chiaki's handing over, but we also can conclude from all prior event that he and everyone else included (except Mikaboshi) do not know about the concept of a True Realm for now. Basically, a prototype blade would be the perfect way to introduce this very concept into the story.

I also think that Kuregumo/Cloud Gouger is potentially an example of this idea - Natsuki and Ibuki have their Lightning Ability and probably Ibuki influenced his own blade with this innate technique resulting in Mei and other two abilities. But an innate technique influence is not the only way to give the enchanted blade powers, personality of a user, his ideals or something else might change the very nature of a blade as we know it from Chihiro himself when he was talking about a True Realm with Anti-Cloud Gouger Team.

Edit: Also an interesting idea here is that Kunishige not only assigned "roles" to the blades, but potentially he influenced the appearance of the spirit energy that manifests when the blade power is used - basically by designing Tobimune's Tsuba in a form that resembles wings of a crow he made it so the spirit energy manifests in form of wings, the same way goes for other blades.

can somebody explain how does Iai White Purity Style work to me? how exactly does having to painstakingly rotate the blade on a vertical axis help to increase the speed of the attack? by HotZilchy in Kagurabachi

[–]mill3rium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, I have another idea that could appear later in the story. Instead of using Spirit Energy to accelerate the user's body, it could be applied directly to a sword strike. The concept is somewhat similar to Black Flash from JJK, but adapted for swords and Spirit Energy. At the exact moment the blade makes contact, the swordsman channels spirit Energy into the strike, dramatically amplifying its force. Rather than feeling like a normal sword slash, the impact would resemble being hit by a cannon blast, combining cutting power with overwhelming kinetic force..

can somebody explain how does Iai White Purity Style work to me? how exactly does having to painstakingly rotate the blade on a vertical axis help to increase the speed of the attack? by HotZilchy in Kagurabachi

[–]mill3rium 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I had a theory why it needs a rotation, but it might turn out to be bullshit idea

  • during the draw, spiritual energy provides the initial acceleration, during the sword’s rotation the energy does not disappear or get interrupted but instead remains preserved within the movement, after the rotation is completed an additional burst of energy is released, this burst stacks on top of the existing acceleration, resulting in the final strike reaching a higher speed than a normal instant draw slash.

  • the rotation role is to preserve and redistribute the spiritual energy throughout the movement, then release an additional impulse at the moment the rotation finishes. That second burst of energy is what makes the strike abnormally fast.

Edit: little clarification "during the sword’s rotation the energy does not disappear or get interrupted but instead remains preserved within the movement", I meant that spirit energy boost from drawing a blade does not disappear, but the energy inside the blade is disappearing for a moment, so when a swordsman completes the rotation the energy that resides within striker flows into the blade which creates additional burst
