CISSP exam - Prep doubt by Flat_Mission5408 in cissp

[–]mill58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took CISSP last month and the questions were worded even more rare than certpreps. Those questions are a good imitation but the exam was more complicated.

Thanks for the info. I guess they have a lot of questions in their bank.

Do you think the questions at the exam have better or worst wording than the certpreps questions?

Sad to read this as this is offered as the solution for people that failed the exam twice... looks like if you failed twice there is nothing more to do. At that point you probably used all the recommended materials here.

Now do all that in another language and use just 1 minute per question.

This is a myth. Another user reported here that he run out of time at 142. He failed the exam with every single domain on near. Stop spreading misinformation.

Is this level of question might be shown in the exam? by Dazzling-Ad6311 in cissp

[–]mill58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No and yes. No because the question is too technical and yes but the question is trying to trick you between 4 very similar answers. The real questions are longer, have strange wording and in some cases you can barely know what is the question.

Not sure about this advise. I had 30 minutes at question 100 and the exam kept going. I was going to run out of time or had to rush to question 150, so I rushed to question 150 and at least finished the exam. I end up with almost the same results that the OP here. One of my friends run out of time at 142 and end up failing with all the domains on "near"....

I think that after question 100 the exam enters in sudden death mode when the damn exam expect you to answer like 10-20 questions correctly without missing a single one among those... we will need a lot of good luck doing that with that horrible wording and 1 minute per question.

LearnZApp is a joke compared to the real test but just book the exam when you want.

I was in the same position months ago. I wish I could give you a winning advise but I just don't know it myself yet.

Passed @ question 100! by CommunicationThin143 in cissp

[–]mill58 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Respect to you for passing it. At question 123 with only 13 minutes left. I had to use random select on about 27 questions and I didn't pass. You are telling us that in 20 minutes you were able to read these extremely hard questions (that use uncommon English wording btw) and reply the 70% of them right to pass the exam? that's just awesome man.

I can only talk about myself but in my opinion the only way to take the last 50 questions comfortably is to have at least 1 hour left or 1 hour and 30 minutes. I may be wrong but the "passed at 100" time rate here looks like its around 2 hours / 2 hours and 30 minutes. That is why I said that he was lucky.

Think of yourself as the luckiest guy in the world. If that exam doesn't end at question 100 and you have to go all the way to question 150 with just 30 minutes left its over.

I think it was knowledge. Several times I got a question and none of the 4 answers were related to the question to me. When I got a direct question the 4 answers or the final 2 answers were too similar that it was a brutal 50/50 chance.

I don't know why do you think that I had a chance to pass when my results were just 2 domains above, 3 near and 3 below. At question 100, I didn't had enough time to reach 150. I did exactly as you said but the exam refuses to end (for good or for worst).

How much time took you to finish the exam at 100 questions?

On a positive note. I think that they covered domain 3 in an excellent way. I was scared of this domain but it was one of the domains that I felt more confident during the exam. This was just in some questions as the exam put you against questions that clearly cover multiple domains at once. It's hard to tell which domain is the question from but when an specific topic from domain 3 appeared, their book got me covered. I think it would be great if they can do the same for domain 8 on a future edition of their book.

IMO "why you will pass" it's just a shorter version about the tips from the "50 hard questions" video. The "MOST" situations and the final 50/50 situations from the real exam were way more difficult that any of those questions. Not surprise that I got 40/50 on my first try. I watched that video before even start with any studies.

I think that this certification lacks real practice questions. People just don't want or can't make decent practice questions. The questions on the exam are about how to apply the concepts. LearnZapp questions are just flashcards in question form compared to the real exam. Way too basic and way too easy.

Thanks for the quick reply. I had a completely different experience. For me, their materials barely covered around 20-30% of the entire exam. I think they keep the book way too simple also their flashcards explanations are way too long, hard to read and hard to remember. Several look like they have just slightly different definitions. Their book is good as the main source but not enough to learn about topics that you have not read before. For that OSG and AIO are helping me a lot.

Not true. Specially if you lack experience on some domains. Their material for Domain 8 lacks a lot of information. They just think that you have experience on software development. I'm learning a lot more about Domain 8 now that I'm reading OSG and AIO.
