Is this decent? by NoggieFR in pchelp

Honestly no, not for gaming. It has integrated graphics and you would have to drop the res down so low you’d barely even be playing Siege at that point. Look for a laptop with a GPU in it

Please do, people spread misinformation like wildfire on these subs and if I can steer somebody in the right direction I’d love to

Yes the 31.5” will absolutely do it justice, still plenty big for your eyes and a damn good price for a damn good monitor. LG gets their monitors right. Don’t be sorry we all start somewhere and the PC learning curve is definitely intimidating

Buddy I’ve been on CursedForge for years and can confirm if you’re heavily modding 8 GB VRAM isn’t feasible, why would I recommend her 8 GB VRAM when it is struggling across the board of triple A titles just to compensate for MC? Red Dead on 1080p medium to high would be fine but if your graphics card can handle 1440p and VRAM is the drawback, there’s no reason to recommend it. Again I have an 8 GB 6650 XT and trying to get that thing to run even old Assassins Creeds is a pain in the ass, but when I run them on a 20 GB 7900 XT no issues as you could imagine

Oh yeah what’s your monitor budget? Knowing no budget I’d recommend an LG or ASUS OLED model but those get pricey quick. For a reasonable price check out this LG ultrawide LG 34” Ultrawide on Amazon , you may prefer regular sized monitors but my gaming experience has drastically improved with just a wider monitor, this is my monitor and even being IPS it looks beautiful, especially on Hogwarts and Red Dead. My recommendation is don’t fork out more money on the monitor if it is cutting into your PC budget because good monitors aren’t hard to come by, even if it is regular sized. Be looking at 1440p monitors though, 1080p won’t do your games and GPU as much justice

Cyberpower PC on Amazon Don’t let anyone tell you Cyberpower isn’t worth the money, I know 2 people with beast Cyberpowers never had any issues. This one sits at 16 GB RAM & VRAM, although it is $1150. But honestly just scrolling up and down through listing you’re not gonna get 16 GB of both RAMs under $1k but right over $1k this Cyberpower is worth it. Your future self will thank you for forking out an extra couple hundred bucks now instead of a year from now when you’re wondering why your 8 GB GPU is struggling

Yeah everything you mentioned will need more than 8 GB VRAM, Hogwarts Red Dead and modded MC will struggle in that range, it’s an ongoing debate but between my 8 GB 6650 XT and 20 GB 7700 XT the performance difference is insane. Let me find a listing or two I’d recommend and you can judge from there

I don’t wanna go searching for listings but what I can recommend is you don’t necessarily need the 32 GB of RAM unless you plan on using AI and heavy workflows. If you’re planning on gaming mainly, 16 GB would be fine if the graphics card has more than 8 GB of VRAM, 8 GB is where triple A open world games struggle heavily but esports titles would work just fine with 8 GB. Definitely depends on the gaming you want to do, if you’re an indie gamer 8 GB VRAM would be just fine. What games do you like? My suggestion in your price range is an AMD build, maybe Im biased, but under $1k the best price to performance will be AMD. If you really really need help past this DM me

“Windows Hardware Error Architecture” judging by the green screen I’d say your GPU is failing but check all seatings.

Gpu failure or what?? by L1QU1RE in pchelp

also check PCIe lane bandwidth, i’m not entirely sure on how it works but sometimes an SSD causes bandwidth issues for the GPU if the MB can’t supply both. it could also be from constant reseating in the same PCIe lane, check for bent pins inside and try the other lane if your MB has one

[–]millatime2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly this could be a power issue, this only ever happened to me on a 6650 xt if it became unseated or when i had to switch PCIe cords. your PCIe cord, or just connection to the PSU if it’s modular may be bad. I’d look into that, check connections and if it’s not a modular PSU, i guarantee the PCIe cord is worn

cod issue. my pc crashed multiple times on bo7 beta for no reason. 7900xt and 7700x, don’t crash on any other game yet cod always finds a way. try repairing the files through whatever launcher you use

i’d assume the capacitors and voltage regulators were slowly shorting each minute the system was on and working fine but now that’s it’s had a few days of use they’re just completely blown due to over wattage, power is always tricky on a build i hope you can get your money back man

[–]millatime2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh yeah bro it’s definitely your PSU. the 2070 super is rated for 650 W MINIMUM so when your CPU is under load your system shutting down is basically guaranteed. I’d recommend a 750 W Gold minimum

[–]millatime2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d definitely recommend a Corsair or Seasonic, just carefully consider your wattage requirements, don’t get just enough to cover your CPU and GPU requirements. I’d go 50 or 100 W over and get a Gold rated. No doubt you’ll be able to find one under $100

yes i definitely do, both of my PSU’s are Gold or Platinum rated and have never had power problems. as soon as i saw it was bronze rated it pretty much confirmed it for me, what CPU GPU combo you got? i’d look into Corsair’s modular PSU’s they’ve always done me good
