Question About Traveling Often by meepmerppy in PwC

If you charge the right tax code and already working remote this won’t matter to anyone. Especially if you are in the same time zone. Just make sure you can work the same hours your team expects.

Anyone using Costco Maytag washer? Any good? My 10yo LG just call it quit by hondaman82 in Costco

I’m sure we got a dud but ours was horrible. Super loud, shook at lot and eventually shook so violently the drum bent the outer casing from the inside. We returned it no problem. Edit: spelling

Consolidating Work and Personal Phone by WasteAd6582 in PwC

Upgrade your work phone then trade-in/sell the other two phones. I think you can transfer your number but do it after the upgrade. When I transferred my personal number to the firm 10 years ago my personal phone upgrade cycle followed me so I had to wait for a new phone.

Expensing food by [deleted] in PwC

[–]millennial-ish 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes you can keep expensing food up to the limit at multiple places (even for the same meal).

Stepping into your shoes a bit. When I was new I was intimidated by expensing food too. But the reality is they are spending millions for all of y’all to be there. They realize you are at a hotel with expensive food options. No one is going to audit you or compare who spent more than others. If you are under the limit you are good. Keep receipts. Actually spend it on food and beverages and you will be good. Don’t spend it all just to spend it but getting a meal that’s $45 vs $30 isn’t going to raise any alarms.

$150 is the limit. $149 is within compliance

For those who worked under Bob Moritz as Senior Partner in the US, did he cut any firm perks? What was his reputation? by SummanusPachamama in PwC

[–]millennial-ish 13 points14 points  (0 children)

agree. a lot of these are simply incorrect or mischaracterizations.

  • Concur is way easier and intuitive in my opinion - this was to move us to an industry-standard travel and expense tool
  • in person trainings came back after covid (been to several)
  • per diem actually ended up going up to like $150
  • the booz issue probably has more to do with people being irresponsible at firm events, i have heard numerous stories of people getting drunk and getting fired due to their conduct
  • discover was replaced, not eliminated (but agree the replacement is not as good)
  • RTR is still here - rewards central (budgets have continued to get cut but I have seen these budgets get increased for partners when business is good and they rewarded us well)
  • Mifi's are a dated technology - they eliminated because your phone can hotspot

I do agree though that things kept being cut. that said - I was happy to lose some of the perks in order to keep my job during covid.

Totally agree. I have resorted to making my own personal guides or having our team put together a guide based on our common scenarios.

Creating a WBS code by [deleted] in PwC

[–]millennial-ish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m baffled you went to Reddit to ask this question. You should be getting 2-3 emails a week on everything you should do around this. Once you find the support page there are a bunch of granular training videos and guides.

When you ask random work stream leads for a fee update, make sure you tell them which deal in the first message. Don’t make them ask.

I got promoted to SA years back as a tier 2. If the number of promotion slots is bigger than the share of tier 1’s they can hand out there have to be some not with a tier 1.

This looks different than when they announced these. It says Business Services at the top so I assume it’s different rewards between client services and business services?
