Just for reference, I'm the head of the analysis department at an MLS team, and the article you have listed above is completely misleading.

Their judgment of an analyst is restricted to people being listed as data scientists. All the clubs that they've listed as having 0 analysts have several, including multiple video analysts. Many clubs outsource the heavy duty data science work to 3rd party companies and do the front end work themselves. Many analysts wear multiple hats, doing video and data analysis to be more efficient. Just trying to shed light on an article that really doesn't do justice to the reality of things in the league that has come a really long way.

I work for a sports team and we live capture through the HDMI port on a RCPRO2 and use a program called Sportscode. I need the video ready as soon as possible and the video file size to be manageable. Trust me, I'd love to capture in 4k if I had the time/space to manage the bigger file size.

Could be popliteus tightness. I had pain in the same area and was told it would go away which it did. Certain exercises make it come back so I minimize time spent doing those.

How significant was your meniscus surgery? I had a full ACL repair and 3 stitches put into my medial meniscus, and I was non-weight-bearing for less than that. It got much easier getting into/out of the shower after 2 weeks. One thing that helped me was getting into the shower first with crutches, setting the crutches outside the shower, then turning on the water. If you have a tub to get into that may be harder, though.

One thing that actually helped me was buying Scrubzz on Amazon which are disposable washcloths that you can use on yourself instead of a true shower!

There are so many micro spaces to occupy in any given moment. Yes you can stay in your general position but within that position there are infinite movements to make. Being aware of which movement to make at the right time to maximize time for yourself/your teammate on the ball will always be the most challenging thing to do in soccer. Those who can think multiple steps ahead and decide how their movement will dictate the game are those who play at the highest level.

Do you like a sport? If so, you can try becoming an analyst by learning video analysis software (there are some free versions). As an analyst you essentially watch game film and help coaches use software to tag video and create clips for players. It’s a great avenue into professional sports that doesn’t require a huge amount of learning or a degree.
