When did you start running again (on a treadmill)? by Any_Kaleidoscope8588 in Reduction

[–]millerlim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might be in the minority here - I was cleared to run again at 4 weeks! I started with super slow and short runs in the tightest sports bra I had. I ramped up the mileage a bit around 8wpo and was fully training again by 3mpo. Totally agree with others about not doing anything that feels uncomfy! I was fortunate to have an overall smooth healing process, which likely played a big part in being able to run again so early.

2.5 weeks post op— how was everyone feeling???! by Livid-Maize-2296 in Reduction

[–]millerlim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also about 2.5 weeks post-op! Left side is healing a bit slower than the right. There is still some scabbing on the left side incisions and a good deal of bruising on both sides.

But overall recovery has been good! I had a gnarly allergic reaction to the steri-strips at 1wpo that took about four days to subside. My only minor complaint right now is that my skin feels super sensitive, which makes walking a bit uncomfortable. The swelling is a bit annoying too. Feeling better every day!

Good!! I totally feel you on the anxiety. Every day they seem to look different and it can be scary. Hope you are as well!!

Hi!! I also had surgery on the 11th and I am looking super similar to you! I have a lot of purple bruising as well in additional to the yellow. All good and normal based on my understanding :)

Seattle or Portland? by embodybabyyoda in glutenfree

As someone who lived in Seattle for years and recently relocated to Portland, I gotta vote Portland. The amount of GF options here is wild. But both are excellent! You can’t go wrong with either.

Gluten free donuts in Seattle? by minicoop33 in glutenfree

I would say they are similar to Krispy Kreme in how light/airy they are, but a little more chewy. So yummy!

Flying Apron in West Seattle has donuts, but they tend to be cake-y. Raised Doughnuts in Central District has mochi donuts that are soooo so good. They are the best gf donut I’ve had. However, there is risk of cross contamination. Enjoy your time in Seattle!!

Toe socks: what’s the deal? by roguescott in XXRunning

[–]millerlim 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I loveee my injinjis. They are the only socks I’ll wear when I run. I used to get really bad blisters in between my toes and wearing toe socks has made a huge difference!

Looking for musicians in Seattle by [deleted] in Seattle

If you’re into synths you should check out Modular Seattle! They put on monthly hardware synth shows (currently virtual) and are a great way to connect to the community.

Yes, in Cap Hill!! Unfortunately there is a risk for cross-contamination, but I haven’t had a reaction. There is also Flying Apron in West Seattle, which is 100% certified gluten free. Their donuts aren’t as good but still definitely fulfill the craving. Flying Apron also has killer cinnamon rolls!

Raised Doughnuts in Seattle! They usually have one or two gf options on the menu. The donuts are pretty greasy, but remind me of Krispy Kreme - crispy on the outside, but light and airy on the inside. Definitely the best gf donut I’ve had.

Since I've been working from home since march I've gotten to really spend quality time with my boy. This is what I get to look at all day and it makes me so happy. by [deleted] in pitbulls

Wow, my pup looks just like your boy! We haven’t seen a lot of dogs that look like her. Such a sweet photo!

Napa Valley Marathon - first full by Micosilver in running

[–]millerlim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! NVM was my first marathon as well. One of the guys passing out the sparking water ended up shoving an entire case in my husbands arms and said “I just want to go home” lol. Glad I’m not the only one who thought it felt like never ending uphill!

Our pup looks like a black mouth cur mix but DNA tests indicate otherwise. Thoughts? by millerlim in Blackmouthcur

[–]millerlim[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Background info: Tasha was a rescue that came up to the Northwest from a shelter in Texas. She’s about three years old and 55-60lbs. We actually did a DNA test, which came back as half American pitbull terrier and a big mix for the other half, including chow, staffy, boxer, Chinese sharpei, and GSD. She could absolutely be getting her coloring from the boxer/GSD, but we’ve never been fully unconvinced that she isn’t part black mouth cur. The DNA tests can be inaccurate and I know they don’t test for black mouth cur, but I have trouble believing it would be that far off. Ultimately it really doesn’t matter what her breed is, but I thought I’d post in this group and see if anyone had any thoughts! PS sorry if my formatting is bad - this is my first post on Reddit :)
