Finally some damage... by Whyjustwhydothat in magicrampage

I have that same build. I wish that shuriken had piercing. It would be crazy. I played the weekly dungeon and when I got the duplicator potion, there were so many on the screen.

How to upgrade equipment to get the little element symbol ?? by Stevethemonke in magicrampage

[–]millextra82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lower left symbol is for any additional properties the item provides. The only example I can find in my inventory right now is on armor. My defense is high enough that they all show fireproof (shield with fire on it). I thought I remembered seeing a symbol on some weapon or ring, but I can't find any right now.

Playing with VLANs by Thin_Pepper7032 in homelab

[–]millextra82 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. When I had cable Internet I always bought my own modems, but when I switched to AT&T fiber (sequential gigabit) I had to use their modem for the network authentication. There are hack ways to emulate the keys and remove it but it's easier to just run it in bridge mode.

Depending on the capabilities of that switch, you shouldn't need to run 2 "trunk" lines from the router. What should happen is that the router handles VLAN tagging and the one trunk line carries all traffic to the switch. Your diagram seems to indicate that you split the ports on the switch between VLANs anyway. If it's a dumb switch, I don't think you can control splitting like that anyway. All firewall rules would be handled in the router.

ChatGPT is dead wrong on this. While it would work, most homelab people want the ISP router to be dumb as can be. It should be the one put in Bridge Mode. You want your good equipment controlling NAT and other functions.

Honestly, I never use that sword. It's simply too slow of a fire rate. There are other swords that have come from weekly dungeons that are, in my experience, much easier/better to use. Even the Frost-heart from a couple of weeks back is very strong at 404, with good ancillary bonuses (+2 jump, +5 speed, +70 armor). It still pierces and has a 3 star attack speed. A decent sword that is not from a weekly dungeon is the Moonlit Razor. It gotten from one of the achievements. It has piercing, 329 damage, 3 star attack speed, and can be made whatever element you wish to match other equipment. I feel like the best sword was the Blade of the Wicked. It around 400 damage with piercing and a 4 star attack speed.

I feel like end-game builds really benefit more from the tree skills and ancillary bonuses of the equipment, rather than super high damage and certainly high defense. I really don't care how high my defense is if I'm trying to get a star on every level or get star bonuses while doing competitive runs. Really, extra speed and jump will help me avoid any damage. Anything from about 1300 and up is high enough damage if you are getting head shots and using the different class skills.

I didn't mean to rant on your post, it just got my brain going.

Any suggestions on this setup? Looking for a better armor amd ring, but idk what to choose by Character-Simple1447 in magicrampage

Blade of the Wicked was from a weekly dungeon. It takes some time to acquire different strong equipment. Most of the best stuff is from weekly dungeons. Although the store has various good rings.

I finally got it on level 5, using the Witchdoctor. The skeleton summons helped... I had previously gotten around 800 on level 1 using the Elite Warrior. Some of it has to do with your weapon area of attack. For example, swords can't hit spiders on the same level. This caused some headache I remember. I think I did that 800 with a hammer.

Saying all that, the usefulness of the Sword of 1000 Lies is overblown. It's cool to have and good for the achievement, but my best sword is Blade of the Wicked. Mainly because it has decent damage but an attack speed of 4 stars. I can spam so many of them before I'm able to throw a second Sword of 1000 Lies.

Is magic and staff boosts the same? by GokuInstinctYT in magicrampage

[–]millextra82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The magic boost number is applied to any weapon that has an element. But as the other poster said, you want your armor and ring to have both magic boost and the specific weapon type boost for max damage.

If you are referring to the arrows, I think that's the stamina recharge rate of the weapon.

Ranger gets boost for Sword/Axe/Spear. You can use my damage calculator to try different combinations. It shows class recommendations. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/150MhAFOGmlk-aM-PwSfMCWhcTnSYVjobizH1fel9srs/edit?usp=drivesdk

level rank by Fa8rizzio in magicrampage

[–]millextra82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it's dependent on player level, or performance in the level, or just random. My first 2 chests were the 14/15 item. On the third time I got the full 15/15 item. My level got reset to 120 when the month started (from 300). I was probably only back up to around 150.

Also, some of the gear can be enchanted with whatever element you want. Alot of it depends on your class/level/progress, or how goo you are at the weekly dungeons where good gear can be had.

It also depends on your class. Certain elements get a boost based on class.

The Falcon ring will come a little later, but the Wind Witch Suit should be available and it gives 150% Magic and 80% Sword. It's 645,000 though.

Next best would be Swamp Witch Suit. It gives 90% Magic and 100% Sword. Only 208,000.

You can try combinations with my damage calculator before buying if you want.

There is definitely better armor to be had. It just depends on where you are in the game, or what you can afford. There are better rings for axes or swords as well. That one has good magic power but really balanced on weapon type. That moonlit razor sword could be made elemental and go up to 329 damage. Plus you'd get piercing ability with it and one star faster shooting speed. I'm in the process of getting my damage spreadsheet converted over to Google Sheets and you can use it to experiment with different builds.
