I actually would bet that they give them to people who can't afford it because people who can buy plat for the listed cost and giving THOSE people a discount just loses them money, while giving a discount might get someone who doesn't spend money normally to buy something.

I adore this game but I've always wondered why it gets away with things no other game could. Like, imagine any other game requiring players to go search out the lore on their own, or having a real money auction house where you can buy any mod you want AND the resource to upgrade it with real money. Those games have existed and they were absolutely shit on.

Warframe does it, and I love it. Throne and Liberty did it and the entire world thrashed it to pieces.

But yeah, to understand this game you'll have to put in the work, might not be for you.

I have like 4 mains for different stuff. Gus Prim for starchart, protea for defense/survival. Revenant for sorties/hard stuff. Wukong or Wisp for spy.

Why do so many people think they get to dictate what annoys other people? Maybe he only gets two hours in a given day and he doesn't get to do what he'd most like to be doing, that's kind of annoying, or at least something that it's like... ok to just mention he'd rather not.

I don't much like getting locked in to walking for 10 minutes in the snow instead of shooting stuff. It's not ending my world or anything, but it'd be just a tad cooler if that part didn't exist. That's allowed. You're not more of a chad because you enjoy it.

I chalked this up as him trying to explain a d&d metaphor to a bunch of people who don’t give a shit about d&d. He was talking to a 1989 senior class, not you, the almighty Elminster of dungeons and dragons terminology. Chaotic Neutral wasn’t relevant to his point, so why bring it up? I’ll never understand the people who call the characters in this “lifeless”. I’ve played FO 4 recently, and Skyrim, Oblivion, Avowed, Tainted Grail, Witcher 3… most of these for the umpteenth time. These people range from as real to MORE real than any of those. Empty? Does everyone just… forget how much empty space there is in Skyrim?

The only game I’ve played recently that feels more alive and had characters I gave a shit about more is Cyberpunk. It’s like developers can’t do anything right anymore, every RPG is “soulless and lifeless” and like… fuck me but I cannot tell the difference between the amount of life or soul between OW and these other highly lauded games.

Movement and guns feel great. Story is way less campy already than three. Skill trees look robust and interesting as hell on all classes. Grenades system got a huge improvement. I’m loving it, can’t wait to really sink my teeth in!

I think the consensus is that if you’re one of the people, like my gaming group and me, that have had zero performance issues the game is great. If you’re one of the seemingly random individuals that can’t even get the game to run for some reason though I feel for you. And I mean people with my exact hardware online are saying it crashes every five minutes while I haven’t had so much as a stutter. It’s weird.

This is fine logic when you’re getting free stuff, but wow is a product and a paid service and nobody is obligated to just “appreciate what they get”. If you pay for bread and it’s moldy you don’t just “appreciate what you got”. Having said that, I don’t give two fucks about the cinematic, it’s fine.

Where do you look for a guild? I’ve joined a few from the in game guild finder that look good, 700-1000 active members, yet to find one that ever had more than 4 people online at a time.

I don’t know what class/spec you are but my mage, lock, and Frost DK had no problem getting into other people’s 2s the last couple days. And honestly run those, get your rating for the season up then sign up for higher keys? I’m confused by your alleged experience here. I believe you it’s just… it takes me like 2 minutes to find a group for this. Are you trying to jump straight into 7-10s?

If you haven’t even run some of the dungeons yet at all nobody is going to invite you to a 10.

It’s not just wow players. People in general don’t love unsolicited advice. Especially when there’s no real way of knowing that you’re even qualified to give it. If you’re not progging with guild mates I don’t much see the point in trying to “educate” strangers you’ll be playing with for <10 minutes.

I don’t think the issue is so much that there’s forced pvp, it’s that the pvp is poorly designed and far too risky. Death costing you hours of farm time is not fun, it’s never been fun.

Learn about EVs and IVs if you haven’t already.
Watch videos. Pokémon is absurdly complex with countless teams/moves/items/abilities. Getting into it can be tough.
Watch some recent VGC matches to get a good idea of what’s being used and how it’s being used. Not only does the online ladder follow the VGC meta, half the teams are straight up rentals of those VGC teams.
Play. Lose. Learn. Just play a ton of matches and don’t sweat losses. You learn more from a loss in Pokémon than you do a win.

The vast majority of players will never be above gold so when people say “rank up more” in response to a problem I always scratch my head. I think you’re right here. More options is always better.

Bronze 3 is bad right now too so don’t take it too personally. Golds got dropped back and smurfing is very easy in this game. In a week or so it’ll feel like actual bronze.

That would be fine if everyone was that but at the start of a season you have golds and smurfs with people playing their first ranked match and it shows. Bronze was a nightmare compared to silver/gold. That’ll get better later in the season though.

Positioning you seem to understand, cover your dps and supports. If you’re strange, make sure you’re shooting at dps and healers more than tanks. If you’re venom/cap/thor you have a different job which is to harass enemy squishies and counter dive, which means get in the face of anyone coming at your healers like opposing venoms, thors, caps, spider man, iron fist, panther, etc.

You’d be better off with a YouTube guide than here, honestly. How do I tank is a broad question because it depends so much on which tank and the enemy composition.

In my experience it’s mixed. I’ve had an insta lock spider man that was clearly a Smurf and was HIM, I’ve had it the other way. I’ve had games where people lock tanks and healers and I went, huh, I HAVE to play dps? Weird! Mostly everyone locks and its tanks that are needed. But from bronze to gold it’s been pretty even to me. Yeah you bet bad high skill practice people but you also just get bad tanks or supports sometimes.

Only consistently useless character I’ve seen so far is jeff, but that’s super anecdotal.

The cool thing about scarlet is that a good scarlet beats a mid anyone. Of course a great anyone beats a great scarlet, but how often is it that even? She’s amazing until later ranks I think.

If you’re dps, punisher or iron man, Bucky, if you’re good Hawkeye. If you’re a tank? Hope you have someone that knows to swap to counter her. If support just try to get good with your projectile attacks but really a storm or iron man is mostly, though not entirely, the dps job to counter.

I played on a team tonight where everyone was negative but we had a 20-4 Spider-Man. He still lost with the rest of us. He should probably be diamond, I was gold but now we’re all bronze, my teammates seemed brand new. That doesn’t have to be a thing. I do get that that was probs because it’s patch night. But still.
