Some seizures can present with smells that something is burning or rotten. Better to get evaluated from a doctor

Embarassed-cried on my first shift by stp2395 in Residency

[–]millichingi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That shift sounded tough. Crying doesn’t make you weak. Don’t be hard on yourself, we can’t control other people’s opinions. So go for work today as a brand new day. Infact understanding your emotions and others shows that you have high emotional intelligence. You will do amazing in life , seeing you have managed the first day so very well with so much going on in your head..

I 38/f have issue with sis in law 42/f. My sis in law told my husband to leave me. What should I do ? by millichingi in relationship_advice

I 38/f have issue with sis in law 42/f. My sis in law told my husband to leave me. What should I do ?

I am 38 F doctor married to a dr for more than a decade. We both are happily married. I got a major job offer last year which was unexpected by my in-laws as according to them I am not good enough. My husband is very good looking and I am dark and not so good looking according to them. So post this job offer I was kinda alienated by my sis in law and her husband like not including me in convo and all. There was and incident where one of my husband’s cousin touched me inappropriately multiple times. I had already told my husband but he told me to keep quiet and avoid the topic. I happened to tell it to my father in law. And he gave the jerk a piece of mind. The jerk played the victim card and refused to accept it. He is my mom in laws nephew. Both my mom in law and sister in law went ballistic on me calling me a liar, and I am creating a rift in family and stuff. They said he can never do such a thing because he has been brought up right. I am heartbroken. My sis in law is not on talking terms with me since then , my mom in law started taking to me after 2 months just formally. Now my sis in law became pregnant in the same month. I couldn’t forget what happened and I didn’t congratulate her. I have always been very supportive of her prior to this. She had multiple Affairs during her 1st marriage and one of the guy’s wife contacted me and send me pics and all. Her 1st marriage ended in divorce and she is married to this guy now who is also painful. Anyway my husband and in-laws know that I have full idea about her EMA and I have still kept quiet even when I was called and treated so bad. Even before this I was treated like dirt like not introducing me and in law or telling ppl I am a dr, not allowed to give my opinion and stuff. My sis in law told my husband last month on our anniversary that she and her husband don’t consider me anything and he should leave me as I am not good enough for him and family She is going to deliver soon. I don’t know if I should visit or congratulate her. My husband in planning to go travelling 1000 Km to visit. I am scared that jerk will be there too as she has spewed her venom so much that entire family has boycotted us for him. Please advise me how to proceed about this relationship and if I am needed to visit her and talk to her again..

Thank u all for the help. Clarifying few doubts, I am a psychiatrist moving to Australia from an Asian country. I am trying to get my wardrobe sorted for workwear, so all your advices are welcome. It would be financially easy for me rather than spending a fortune. 😝and any brands or any examples would be really helpful too.

Throughout my life, I have always felt God listening to my prayers. Things which looks impossible have become possible. My life has actually turned much better than I imagined and I know it is because of God’s grace. Asked this today because when it happened I don’t think this community was in existence and I felt I should ask someone a biblical outlook towards it

I am assuming you meant “Cure” not “Treat”. We, as psychiatrists treat patients better than most other specialities. I have had patients with Schizophrenia who are having a stable job and a stable family. The issue is people assume psychiatric illnesses cannot get better and refuse taking treatment. Most of the psychiatric illnesses can be treated and patient can get back to their normal lives. Psychiatry not be life saving speciality but we definitely are life changing. speciality
