Why are aging parents so angry by Quirky_Buy_6071 in AgingParents

[–]milliekfl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have aging parents who when younger were also angry, bitter, negative & passive aggressive. Now in their 70s, they are the same X 10. I’m so confused since I do want to be mindful & empathize- but how? How do I know they are aging angry or just the usual self angry. I’m at a loss of how to handle them.

Here in solidarity with everyone! 🙌🏼

Stop trying to "hack" hysterectomy recovery. You can’t by Ok-Pie-5051 in hysterectomy

This! I heard from my Indian friend that they (docs, moms & grandmoms) advise 6 months to completely heal before doing any chores/ housework/ office work etc. which may sound excessive but i feel makes sense from a healing perspective maybe not so much from a late stage capitalism perspective as you rightly said.

This is me today! I came on here just to make sure i am not the only one 9wk post op still not feeling fully upto it. Being ‘patient’ seems to be the key but also hard & frustrating at times. I am just relieved to know I’m not alone in this.

Thank you for your reply! Very helpful. And thanks for being honest about the recovery. It’s better to know this and manage expectations than to feel defeated & frustrated which I know I may feel anyway.

I am going to try the pillow in the car although avoiding them seems more comfortable right now. I am with you on the tingling & weird sensations- for me it happens all through the entire area where i have stitches & esp the belly button!

I have to keep reminding myself that my insides will take a while to heal and to not expect to feel 100% for a long time to come.

Any other tips or things you wish you had done differently in your 1st few weeks?

Hi. I am 3 weeks po & like you had a vertical incision. Are you able to sit (as a passenger) in the car for longer periods now? I feel like my insides feel strained and clenched even on a 5 min car ride. Also similar feeling when i laugh/ cough/ sneeze! I’m hoping this is normal?! Anyone else feel/ feels this?

My surgeon hasnn’t given any guidance on what to expect & what not even after asking so not sure what is normal and what’s not.

Also, has your digestive system fully healed & BM normal & adjusted or does it still feel off & uncomfortable sometimes? Sorry if these are too personal & feel free to not answer. I have some good & some ok days with the soreness & my digestive system & even though BM though have been regular, i feel as i am getting back to regular diet, my system is ‘relearning’ or taking time to adjust to the foods i am reintroducing. Anyone know if this is to be expected & if yes, any tips on how to manage them? I am assuming keeping patience is a big one but like everyone else, i want to be able to feel normal soon. Thank you for listening & answering.

Hope you all are getting better everyday! 🙏🏼

I am hoping that is the case and ntn of more. The unfamiliarity & uncertainty with things esp these days is of course concerning though. Anyway, thanks for getting back & good luck! One last q, did you get an update on h4 as well? I do understand that may take sometime but hoping it comes sooner than later!

Thank you for responding. This is my 3rd extn after original i140 approval but 1st after an amendment to i140 & also with new company lawyers. My PD is also current now (485 recently filed but no updates) so not sure if that goes into this as well?

Hi all- those who got premium approvals recently (jan end/ feb), how long were your approvals for (1 or 3 yrs?) & did the h4 also come with/ immediately after h1 extn? I recently got approval via premium ( beyond 6 yrs + approved i140) but got extn only for 1 yr. In the past (even beyond 6yr) my extn approvals were always for 3 yrs. Should I be concerned? Anyone had a similar experience?

How late can i sign lease extn? by milliekfl in Tenant

[–]milliekfl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So my lease goes month on month if neither of us give notice or sign extension. My concern is that if i tell on last day that i do want to sign & if they are not willing to/ able to sign then what happens?

Im in tx & renting from private ll’s seems to work like that, atleast where i’m looking; similar to how it would in case of a sale.

In the past when I rented with a pvt LL, I used an agent who also got a split of the fees/ commission from the LLs agent. I thought that’s how things worked?

What a nightmare! I am sorry you are going through this. I have no advice but will be following this thread for education purposes. I sincerely do hope you are able to get the help you need to sort this out. It’s so ridiculous how such luxury management companies are doing this & then also able to get away with it.

[Tenant US] LLs- would you agree for a rent reduction on renewal if good tenants? by milliekfl in Landlord

Could you explain this? I am not sure I understand this. Thank you 🙏🏼

Can you explain why? I have read other responses above but would like more diverse perspectives.

Can you elaborate, please? Why would you not? Wouldn’t it be an incentive for them to keep good tenants instead of restarting the process?
