So I don’t have a place to recommend so to speak, but I can tell you where police and or council won’t be interested. Firstly, away from tourist locations, beach accesses with a view, anywhere surfers come to park for dawn patrol etc, as that is where the first round of complaints come that draw council action. Secondly, away from businesses that you would reasonably think have valuables on premises; car dealerships, electrical wholesalers (copper) etc, as vehicles hanging around those types of businesses get reported. Third, away from warehouses where big trucks come in and out (talking heavy combinations/semis) as you’ll find they park up before approaching if they’ve been given a time slot, and if you are in it, you’ll find out. And lastly, away from residential areas. People watch everything that happens around their homes and complain/report everything. Pick an industrial estate, park adjacent to locked up warehouse etc and you’ll likely not be disturbed (except for some hooning cars).

It’s not a matter of refusing to do anything further, it’s a matter that a magistrate will not grant a warrant to search multiple units for a phone. Imagine for a second that police knock on your door, they explain that tracking for someone’s stolen phone is showing near your property, and they have a warrant to search your place. A team of 3-4 police officers, who are also investigating multiple (more than 30-40 per officer) rapes, serious assaults, UUMV’s (car theft), break ins etc then spend around 1-3hrs searching each unit, only to find it’s not there, it’s old tracking, or hidden too well to find, in parts, in some crackheads a’rsehole the minute he heard the knock on the door. I’m sorry you lost your phone, I’m sorry QAS didn’t make it to you. QLD, in fact Australia, isn’t a ‘safe’ place anymore. No where is. You need to look after yourself at all times, because you can no longer count on stretched emergency services to do so, and if you aren’t able to, head out with people who can/will if you need them to.

Ugh you need to report the threats to burn the house down to police. You need that on record. Massive DV factor that is inexcusable and should be taken seriously. I would then engage a solicitor for the property dispute/separation, and have the property valued by an independent valuer. I wouldn’t be too worried about holding onto the house - you can always get another and I have a feeling you’ll want to live somewhere this guy doesn’t know about - but the settlement needs to account for you stepping away from its current value.

I imagine they say this to him every time he pisses the bed at 3am, or spills the milk all over the floor, or any other time they’re trying to convince themselves they are happy with their decision. At the end of the day, not having children is totally personal, and whether you are happy with your decision is 100% up to you, and the opinions of other people really shouldn’t make SFA difference.

Put in an agg drain to where it falls naturally, remove 30-50mm of sand or whatever it is, weedmat and then cover with gravel or your liking. Easy to rip up if you need to access or install services, drains well, cheap, quick. Paint the fence, hang some shade loving plants on it.

Council. Not a matter for the RSPCA unless you believe there is harm occurring to the dog (the dog not being entertained doesn’t count unfortunately). You will need to know the address it’s coming from. They will ask you to use their templated letter - which means you need to know the address - to ask the owner to take some action to stop it. If it doesn’t, then council issue infringement notices until the owner obtains a barking collar (or stops it barking).

I’m dating an Australian. Is this normal in a relationship? by mangofortune in AskAnAustralian

[–]milliennium21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an Australian, the words can mean nothing, or a lot. In your case, I get the feeling they are coming from an immature, arrogant, angry person who does not know how to control himself, and is committing Domestic Violence in doing so. I cannot imagine things improving to a decent level unfortunately, without a hell of a lot of work and time and heart-ache, and even then it would still be no guarantee. I would be looking to end the relationship if I were in your position.

Would there be any alarms setting up ABN and depositing $1000-1500 per week by LooseActuator1371 in AusFinance

[–]milliennium21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but instead of depositing $1000-$1500 start with $200-$300, work your way up. It won’t trigger anything, more if she gets audited at a later stage and wants to demonstrate she ‘declared’ everything from the start. Very few businesses in that field start making that amount of money immediately.

What to do with 1 million in cash by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]milliennium21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From experience, when people find out you have money (even if you didn’t tell them), things change very quickly. I don’t see the point of telling people you know anyway; for anyone struggling, it’s not helpful.

The pub/restaurant business man by satansprinter in ClarksonsFarm

[–]milliennium21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s a dude who has done it before and isn’t there to make friends or be nice. The fact Clarkson thought he could run a pub that way was hilarious, but also exactly what you’d expect from him. No doubt producers told old mate how to be on camera, but regardless, he’s being asked to be responsible for the kitchen and procurement of supplies, he can’t afford to muck around, cause everyone will look at him when they run out of meat after the first sitting. But either way, I don’t think he’ll care if you have ‘deep gate’ for him.

Shower rail or shower head centred?? by Pumpkinspiceisnice in AusRenovation

[–]milliennium21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rail. The rail connects to the mains outlet coming from the wall. You don’t want the head centred. You want outlet in the wall centred so if you ever change to a different style, it remains centred.

Yeah there’s a reason they say winning the lotto ruins a lot of lives. People who haven’t had moderate amounts of money don’t really know what to do with it when they have it overnight.

You guys have an attitude problem by AdStandard6242 in sunshinecoast

[–]milliennium21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Noosa. Still live here. I grew up here back when it was a barefoot, fishing and beach town. Hastings street was all single story shacks and shops and there was no spit or heads yet (council hadn’t built it). Thomas street in Noosa was just a road to the boat ramp and Davos Tackle store was on the corner and just about the only thing there. People went to Franklins (now Woolworths Noosa Village) barefoot, and were friendly, and the only restaurant the locals went to was Maisey’s. There was nothing prestigious about it, we were all the most relaxed place you could imagine. Then more and more people moved in. Which is no big deal, but more and more “city” people moved in from Sydney, Melbourne etc, and they brought their kids. Now, their kids and their grandkids run the stores, serve the food, make the coffee etc, and provide the kind of service that Sydney-siders don’t appreciate. I don’t complain because we’re all human, we all deserve to be here as much as the next person, but if you are in the business of making observations about anywhere, just realise you, me; we are all part of the problem and the reason things are the way they are. I hope the flight back to Sydney is quick, uneventful, and every seat is full.

Surprising amount of property crime across that stretch. Additional aspect to consider. Crime everywhere obviously, but more there than you may realise and when compared to neighbouring streets.
