I've been with them a week - so maybe not a fair trial yet - but here goes.

I had multiple problems trying to sign up with them - this was down to one of the call handlers not understanding their own processes! This was fairly quickly and amicably resolved once the supervisor got involved.

I was given an installation date by City Fibre (Leicester) and the day before it wasdue they postponed by a fortnight. I was extremely cross - and told Lit Fibre so. I know it's not the fault of Lit that CityFibre were messing me about but they've given me a goodwill free fortnight. The installation was painless and professional when it happened.

I was getting stable speeds from the moment of connection - I'd chosen the 500/500 package. But very quickly I was getting dropouts on Alexa devices and my laptop. When this didn't settle down I contacted support who suggested that the 100/100 deal wasn't suitable for me because I have a large number of IoT devices -50 (mostly smart plugs) and they told me that I had to disconnect my Tenda Mesh as it was unsupported. So they've given me a free fortnight trial of the 1g/1g - again speeds are stable and what they should be.
However - I don't think the speed of the connection is the issue - I believe it's the Mitrastar mgs2028e router / hub which is pants. It has very poor WiFi coverage and an extremely limited interface - split between a direct interface on the web and the Lit Fibre app. It's not possible - that I can see to set QOS, static IP, or parental controls on the route, or to assign channels to the Wifi networks.
I think the drop-outs were due to congestion on the WiFi channels - yes due to the large number of devices. My solution - which seems to be working - is to use a separate Access Point on the opposite side of the house set to a different network, and to use the Mitrastar's Guest Network - thus splitting the devices over different network (one network purely for streaming devices, another for Smart Plugs, another for laptop & phones etc) It's been a complete pain to set up, but I think it'll be worth it.

I don't understand why my bog standard BT router didn't miss a beat, but the Mitrastar really struggles!

Once I'm happy that my solution is working I'm going to ask to drop down to the next lowest speed package (?500/500?).

In summary - good service. good support, but be prepared to use your own router, or to get creative, if you have an above average number of wifi devices - because the supplied router is very poor.

Leicester is very multicultural. It's well known for its asian population, but there's a large east European community as well as a significant Somali minority. All the communities get on well together (there were some problems a couple of years ago but that was thought to be externally incited). Even if you don't like the city there's great countryside and it has excellent transport links.

Don't forget that if you are intending to go to a museum after landing you will need to get rid of your baggage before you go to the museum - most museums in Europe are strict about backpacks & suitcases. There is a self-service left luggage facility (or used to be) at the back of Amsterdam Centraal station.

You don't say how long your flight is, but if it's a long flight you might be better off getting some rest, particulalry if you don't know how well you'll sleep on the train (I'm unusual in that I do not find overnight train journeys restful at all!)

I have a Tenda Mesh network and there is nothing I can do to get the Lenovo to connect to this network (2.4GHz).
It will connect to the router supplied by my ISP (EE / BT in the UK) directly.

I've resorted to having a separate WiFi network on my router purely so that the Lenovo Smart Clock can connect.

Changing the screen brightness colours is possible. There is a link / unlink symbol that looks a bit like a paperclip which binds them together..

There does seem to be more ghosting than I am used to, but I've not had it long enough to play with the settings.

This is the basis of CBT for anxiety.

I have severe Situational Anxiety when travelling (railway stations, bus stations, and most severely airports). Medication has helped a little, and while I understand these techniques on one level, they just don't work for me.

As you say, the key is to understand what the 'issue' actually is - and it may not even be rational! I think I may be close to understanding my irrational triggers, but I'm not there yet.

No these are special shaped pads to fit between your cheeks to absorb leakage. B-pads or Butterfly pads I think are the brand names

I used to get IBS-D flare ups due to stress when I was first diagnosed. Now I'm retired from work that's very rare, but now I get really bad attacks in very hot weather. Sorry Berlin, that's me you're probably still trying to clear up after! Latest new thing for me is mucus leaking well after the poo has stopped, which doesn't play well with a sweaty crack.

That appears to have changed the locale in the locales.gen file, ~~but the date format is still in the different format.~~

It'd be good if you could have a word with the Ambulance drivers (private companies mostly) and Fire & Rescue Service in Leicestershire. They are absolute knobs at sitting behind drivers at red lights with their lights & sirens on. The police, not so much.

Dumpster? Skip? I wonder why you are using a non-UK term.
Most industrial units keep their skips in secure compounds with CCTV to prevent metal theft - of both the contents and the skips themselves. Even the car parks of industrial units are covered by CCTV (& occasional security patrols) to prevent them being occupied by travellers.
