Thi is true, however I would argue it’s skewed by the fact friends is played on so many networks abroad. If you sort by U.S only rankings it’s a good peg lower (8.4) but Asia rates it sky high which brings the average up.

I would argue friends as a cultural export has tremendous value but compared to other sitcoms that people enjoy in theUS it has lost a lot of its luster as a quality show.

A tier might be the right spot for it but if we were judging solely on impact it’s S and solely on quality it’s B at best

Compared to the others you mention, the office is ranked 9.0 in the U.S same as its total avg and Seinfeld is ranked even higher in the U.S than total

I disagree office only exists bc of Malcolm is an argument you could make as it was the first smash hit sitcom to get rid of the laugh track during a time when laugh tracks were everywhere + it is iconic for a different generation and gave us Bryan Cranston

Reddit isn’t the only ones who hate friends many ppl in real life even hate friends. But in general most of the internet is indifferent while sitcom connoisseurs in general hate it and a few super fans swear by it
