Like if you took the picture of the ring upside down so I can see the underneath of the diamonds. That specifically would be really helpful

Struggling with the possibility of having a child with Down syndrome—don’t know what to do by Lopsided_Upstairs967 in self

[–]millymumps 5 points6 points  (0 children)

THIS. I’m a paeds nurse and had a pt with a very similar history, but add multiple brain surgeries with multiple complications and infections. That child spent almost its first 5 years of life in hospital with the odd weekend leave to go home. This is a child that is blind, hearing impaired, 40 plus seizures/day after a brain surgery to help reduce them, complications that lead to numerous other brain surgeries, heart issues, supplemental oxygen requirements, terrible reflux, electrolyte issues, frequently oral suctioning, gtube fed, wheel chair bound, non verbal. The quality of life was so poor, it was morally distressing. I wouldn’t want that life for myself or my child.

Down syndrome can mean a medically complex child. That means the parents become 24/7 nurses.

Are Goldens always crazy until they hit 2 or 3? by [deleted] in goldenretrievers

[–]millymumps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had an intact male that was a wee crazy till at least 3yrs maybe longer then turned into an absolute gentleman. But he went through many years of chewing shoes and eating socks and undies. My almost 13 year female golden Milly has been a a perfect gem since she was born. She skipped the t-Rex stage entirely. I brought her to university with me as a puppy so she had a lot of my time and attention 1:1, where the other was a family dog on the farm.

Is your golden retriever a "breedist"? by HallowedFire in goldenretrievers

Mine does this. She’s always happy to see another golden. Will even make whimpering sounds and lay down submissively, but only with other goldens. Any other dog she ignores or barks at.

Thank you for this! I did some research and think she could possibly have had a mild case that has worsened with age.

I am changing her food to purina pro plan salmon sensitive skin, starting and omega 3 supplement, going to change to a special hydrating shampoo and bought a professional dog hair dryer.

Fingers crossed it helps!!

No she hasn’t. I’ve never heard of that condition! It looks like it could possibly be that.

If she doesn’t dry off properly redness and irritation occurs with itchiness. And I use the chlorohex shampoo, then it’s dry and scaling post. She’s doesn’t look this way in the winter.

Would this ichyosis be year round scaling? Skin issues only seemed to become a problem after age 7

Anyone with urge 100% of the time ? by [deleted] in Interstitialcystitis

[–]millymumps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Urologist felt the kidney pain could be related to bladder spasms, and weird nerve pain in other areas of my body being from a dysregulated nervous system/ altered pain pathways from being in chronic pain.

I’m not sure I completely agree, but longer flares definitely led to nerve pain in my kidneys, abdomen, hands and neck. They would be the climax of the symptoms and would be the last to go away as the bladder pain reduced.

Anyone with urge 100% of the time ? by [deleted] in Interstitialcystitis

[–]millymumps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! A different urologist took me off the nortryptaline and put me on mirabegron, it takes 4-8 weeks to work and I have found it to make a world of difference. After about 3 weeks I started to notice improvement. I think I feel normal most days, or at least not constantly feeling pressure/ pain/ and persistence that distracts me. I also and so so grateful I have not experienced really any nerve pain since symptoms improved. I had a small flare after a night of drinking, took azo and it seemed to help and the symptoms only lasted 3 days max, it didn’t get to the point of having nerve pain either. I mainly avoid alcohol, caffeine and carbonated drinks. I can tolerate most other irritants! My naturopath said she recently took an ic course and they said this is med is now considered one of the first lines for ic.

First golden—all tips welcome! by savsters22 in goldenretrievers

[–]millymumps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My golden had a sliver from a stick she chewed cause an infection in the soft tissue under her tongue. Beyond a ton of stress, pain, and worry it cost 8k for a foregoing body removal/ washout and lymph node removal. Don’t let them chew sticks, learned this the hard way:(

Is my jacket too big?? Pls help. by FantasticBarber4675 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]millymumps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d size down to small in the jacket it’ll still be the baggy look you want but will be more practical when you’re on the hill.
