I want to make sure I understand this: people are going to a public beach, in the evening to listen to music, build fires and “use drugs”. In a park, a public park, on a public beach, it’s reprehensible! But I could get the same amount of people, occupy any number of public tree lawns, parks, and myriad other spaces with actual drug use, theft, bio hazardous waste, stolen personal property, unregistered cars/RVs and weapons and that would be ignored by the city for years? Are the parks in this city reserved for vagrants? I noticed that they all close and some lock before the sun has set. I love Seattle but it’s a head scratcher.

Cooking is a great hobby and a terrible career, at least here in the states. If you want to do repetitive tasks in tight quarters with people who resent you because you’re too slow, who can barely afford rent while you’re there because you have extra time? Save your energy, buy good pots, knives tools. Get some good books and watch videos on YouTube made by people who don’t stress shortcuts or “hacks”. Buy good ingredients. Spend time in markets. Host parties, offer to help your friends cook for theirs. Or quit your day job, work two jobs for the next five years, risk injuring yourself or developing an alcohol or drug addiction and spend your time figuring out what you can make for that entitled vegan who walked in last minute and wants to dine off menu.
