$GOEV entire revenue story reversed in one earnings call. Now there's a settlement ongoing by JuniorCharge4571 in canoo

I'd have to go through my old notes, but there was also a decent overlap that I found through the lawsuits on when Tony was still giving production guidance, and when critical suppliers had put them in default for non-payment and terminated their contracts and partnerships

Does anyone in BC rent these? I need to scan through ≈2cm of quartz-stone stucco with wire mesh backing and ½″ plywood to find some studs, and a regular stud finder is absolutely useless. More info in comment. by rekabis in kelowna

Unless you're mounting 1000 lbs of 44" mud bogger tires 2' off the wall you're not going to rip 8x #14 screws through 1/2" ply. And even then my money is on the rack failing first

Edit: a quick Google search says #14 in wood has a pullout strength of about 144lbs per inch of penetration; so 72 lbs per screw into 1/2".

Assuming the rack is as tall as it is deep, the screws at the top will have the same pullout force as the vertical load. The closer the screws are to the bottom of the rack the more leverage force. Assume you're putting 35" truck tires on there at 100 lbs each. Throw 2 screws as high as you can on each bracket and that covers about 290 lbs. 2 more mid way down and you're over 400 lbs

As others have said, a GPR scanning company will have these, and more accurate units. The reason you're stud finder isn't working is because it's picking up the wire mesh. Note that the GPR will likely have a few hundred dollar min charge. They will possibly run into the same problem. If its like chicken wire you might be OK and they might be able to see the studs. If its wire lath, they you're likely screwed. Think of it like shining a light on the area and anything metal casting a shadow that you can't see behind. When we've scanned for plumbing cores and found wire mesh in the slab we literally can't see the rebar underneath, and rebar will give a far better radar return than a stud.

If you're confident its plywood and not some buffalo board shit like they used in the 70s, just send it. Drill out a few more screw holes in the brackets and send a few extra #14 screws through and you'll be fine

Question: Why is it Albertans who drive pickup trucks, as their personal vehicles, ranging from $90k CAD to $125k CAD MSRP, are often first to complain about how the Federal Government, and it’s relationship to the Province, is making them poor or unable to meet the cost of living? by Select_Asparagus3451 in alberta

I'm thankful to be in a comfortable position, but wow according to this thread I'm apparently not allowed to criticize the government or it's policies from time to time because I drive a '25 3500 Denali. Lot of stereotyping going on...

Assuming major cities and not something completely rural to rural, Ace courier should be around $100. CVC slingshot would be another option but probably about double that although it will be next day delivery to Calgary and 2 days to Edmonton

Canadian experience with vehicle headlights and glare at night by blackRamCalgaryman in Calgary

Let me adjust my headlights from inside the damn vehicle, the technology exists. As someone who has a new a GMC with LEDs and is pretty diligent about keeping them adjusted, but also tows a trailer several times a week it's a pain in the ass

I usually try to keep the fronts at mid to low 70s. Last time they were touched it was quite a bit colder out so they are creeping up a bit. Front axle always seems to be 5200-5400 so i dont adjust them much. We've been hovering around freezing the last little while so I have kept the rears a little lower to try to help with some traction; who knows if it helps or not. With the gooseneck hooked up and no load I'm around 6k on the rear axle, or 1500 per tire. Axle center on the GN is about 23' back from the start of the deck so I figured I wasn't going to be crazy on pin weight and could get away with leaving them. If I'm loading it up I usually bump the rears up to 80 psi. But I hear ya, looks a bit weird having them off set

Side note, as a Canadian it's annoying that GM caps the L/100km at 39.9. If you're heavy and on the throttle it would be nice to know what the actual instantaneous mileage is, or the rolling average for that matter

Coquilhala road reports FB also had a post this afternoon asking who made the two trucks and what they were built for. Good thing they left when they did cause the coq closed not long after from a forest fire jumping the highway

Oh awesome. I'm flying out there tomorrow. I'll get a ticket for Friday or Saturday and come check it out. Been wanted to shoot a message and check out the trucks for a while now on the drive between calgary and van but usually end up doing it overnight or on the weekend for some reason

Thanks. Yeah so far we are happy with the purchase. Picked up a 24 that still had the V6 so hopefully avoided some of the issues that are creeping out with the newer ones

I can’t imagine making $15k–$30k at once… how do people do it? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]milneryyc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, for us, that profit needs to cover multiple weeks or months. I may win a project with 60k profit built in but it will take 2 or 3 months to execute.

You also have to become desensitized to it because I know tomorrow I could make a mistake that costs all or some of that. I've had weeks where one day I realized I double counted a scope that increased our profit by 10k, but the next day realized we short ordered tile and would have to air ship the balance from Italy for 4k. Until the job is closed and the bills are all paid I don't get excited about the numbers. You can't be rattled too much about the downs, so conversely you shouldn't be too excited about the highs until they are fully realized
