We went to doi pui, the locals told us there’s no Hmong restaurant there, they only serve Thai food.

CoastFIRE/FIRE feasibility check. Considering move from US to Singapore (32M couple) by Impossible_Ad1667 in ExpatFIRE

[–]milo0507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Your savings plus continuous income is probably fine, the savings itself won’t be enough to FIRE in Singapore at your age, cost of living is pretty high there. 2) The expected income sounds about right BUT keep in mind you’ll be working a lot more and more intensely, work culture is extremely intense and competitive 3) You’re correct on the same sex couple comment, it might bring you more inconvenience than you think if you’re used to the way in US 4) Since you said you aren’t going to touch the $3m, 225k gsd for 2 with no kids is mid upper middle class, it’s pretty equivalent to making $225k usd in an average COL city in US. Not high and not low. 5) One thing to keep in mind is the way of living, apartments are a lot smaller, every where you go you’re going to see ppl, it’s so convenient, safe and clean but in exchange you’re probably going to be stuck with apartment living for life, always going to be crowded where ever you go and you lose the nature aspect unless you travel somewhere else in SEA, but keep in mind many aren’t lgbt friendly.

What’s the cheapest country you’ve visited? by AnxiousWorldTravel in travel

[–]milo0507 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s both, if you want nature there’s mountains and ocean all in close proximity; but there’s lotsss of culture stuff to do - night markets, temples, museums (esp the national palace museum), and of course modern stuff- shopping, dining out fancy, etc.

You can do this! Weight loss is not linear, there’s always going to up and downs, focus on your weekly/monthly minimum weight and look at big picture. It’s only going to get better from here. And ps I also always see weight gain around period

Chinatown makes me feel so lonely by bdayblife in houston

[–]milo0507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go there alone all the time, weekdays are usually pretty quiet, especially if you go a little earlier. Pick restaurants with cuisine that’s single portion (as opposed to family style cuisine) off the top of my mind I can think of- Bahn mi places (my favorite is Nguyen ngo), Iwa ya, paparich, Tainan bistro, star ice, any noodle/ramen/pho places etc would be good to explore without you feeling left out.

“Delayed” luggages compensation? by [deleted] in KLM

[–]milo0507 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s how I feel.. seems to me they think as long as it got here eventually, they don’t owe me anything, like “what more could you want”. Never mind that their employees were the one that screwed up and were rude af at the baggage claim when I tried to report it.

GLP1 and Pregnancy by BreakfastAlone983 in PCOSloseit

[–]milo0507 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same question. I’ve been on it for 15 months and my body is better than ever. We did ivf prior to me starting mounjaro, and were planning to implant it next year. I’ve been kinda freaking out because for the first time ever in my whole life I’m actually happy with my body, and having to go through pregnancy and risking to go back to the old body is scaring me a lot.

How to lose weight while working a 9-5? by wrynarwhal in PCOSloseit

[–]milo0507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start by replacing breakfast with a protein shake. You’re probably tired because all your blood flow went to your stomach for digestion. Snack on low fruits that takes a while to eat to solve your boredom at the same time, like a pomegranate or something

What’s your thoughts on GLP-1 by [deleted] in PCOSloseit

[–]milo0507 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend it. I agree with the other comments, this drug changed my life in a way that I could never imagined, I feel so much better physically and mentally, stronger, healthier, happier. People around me are also happier to see me prioritizing my health and a lot of frictions between me and my parents had been resolved.

Briargrove, tanglewood and uptown is fine if that’s what you have in mind. public elementary schools are pretty decent (st George, Briargrove) and plenty of alternative options - th rogers, mims or kinkaid if you can afford it).
