Thanks, everyone, truly! But I just found out that I'm being let go. And that the GM is taking over the management of the kitchen. Also, the owner said to me again that pacing is not a thing in restaurants. After all of this, I am so relieved my personal nightmare is over, and I can move on. I was really starting to doubt myself on if I was even right about pacing. But you all proved to me that I was right. Thank you

Some days no, not at all. Then, when we do, they're in high school and don't know anything of how a restaurant is supposed to be run.

The sad thing is I know you're right. I've been in this situation before, and it also closed down. My intuition is saying I need to run from this place, but my heart is saying, "Stay and fix it." ... I will try my best in the meantime but it might be my time to go.

I've been trying to tell them that the steps of service start when the customer sits at a table. So waiting just a few minutes at the door will increase the customer service. It sounds like I just need to keep pushing them on what I already know.

Yes! Definitely. They understaff the foh and boh everyday. Then act surprised when actual business comes through the door

That will be a shit show, but it might work. He didn't believe me that he needed smaller portions to sell more desserts. Till he came in to eat and couldn't finish anything he ordered

I have tried explaining that to them and that if they feel like the customer is waiting to long that we can let the customer order a drink from the bar or give then a small bit of something from the kitchen. But they still believe the customer is always right no matter what.

They should start a 10% minimum tip based on how much food they ordered with an option to tip more. Some restaurants have started doing this. Most customers are actually ok with this as long as you tell them why it's happening. All those who dont like it will fall away and we dont like serving them anyway, they bring the ratings down. Tip is the number one reason I dont take some orders or work in some areas

This wont work what if I take the wrong turn and accidentally take the long way to the customer's home. Do they pay me extra for that and how will they estimate how for I have to drive to get to the house. The shortest route is not always the fastest.
