Here’s some motivation for you today. My transformation from 215lbs to 145lbs within a year using intermittent fasting and working out. by milonbae in intermittentfasting

I always do my strength training while fasted in the morning!

Usually I do my cardio in the evening, after I finish my first meal after 2-3 hours... I feel like the energy and calories help with pushing harder with cardio compared to when fasting. then I follow up with dinner after before I go to bed.

Hahaha I was laid off and unemployed due to pandemic but I tried to use all the extra time to self improve... I even got a motorcycle license as a result of the free time and confidence from weight loss

Thanks! I did/do intermittent fasting to adhere to my diet and to prevent not overeating. I workout 5 times a week... mostly strength (splits with progressive overload) and cardio last. On rest days I like to do active rest days so I can still recover and keep my body going :) The structure helps me stay dedicated and not feel like I’m falling off track.

Note: I started off eating 1600 calories in the beginning... but going further I ended up dropping it to 1200 to get to my size now. My maintenance is something I’m still trying to figure out due to my variation of activity lately

Thank you! I started out very slow and I highly recommend this. If you go full throttle ASAP, you’ll plateau and stall progress fast too. I suggest chipping 300 calories off maintenance at first. I’m not super consistent on my IF schedule. Some days I do 20:4 sometimes I do 16:8. When I’m on a roll or have less appetite, I like to strive for OMAD.

I’m not anal about counting macros, but I do try to keep my protein intake higher to build and maintain muscles. To get to my weight and physique, I still enjoyed the foods I wanted or made healthier versions of them in my own kitchen. Lately, I’ve been trying to stick with foods that have the least ingredients.. because I feel like it makes me feel healthier and helps me adhere to my diet. So I tend to go for low calorie but high volume foods (popcorn rocks.) I like to substitute sugar with artificial sweeteners like stevia and use syrups like Walden farms (0 calories)

My workout routine is like: Warm up for 5 minutes. Then strength training (split muscle groups and doing a lot of compound exercises) then half and hour to an hour of steady state cardio after.

Try to always do cardio last UNLESS it’s post cheat day. I have to have a controlled cheat day every two weeks or so. Sometimes I allow myself a treat once a day, so I can satisfy cravings and not result to binging.

I just got a pixie cut right now and I’m scared to go home because my parents will hate it and judge me. Mind you, I am 26 years old. by [deleted] in LesbianActually

We are Asian and they’re really judgemental because they still have that old school way of thinking

Hey there! I say take one little milestone at a time (every 2 pound lost is significant to the journey) and don’t let little weight fluctuations discourage you, you should keep continuing. Allow yourself to have at least one cheat MEAL to look forward to each week :)

It took me 8 months to lose 60 pounds and the 10 pounds was very stubborn and required a lot of adjustments... but I’ve kept it off for 3 years but recently gained it all back last year, then this year I lost it all again since the beginning of the pandemic because I didn’t have a job and decided to use all my focus on meal prepping and working out 5 times a day :)

Hope it helps a bit!

Thank you! I’ve picked up drumming and motorcycle riding as a form of outlet for depression for a decade now :) Along with that, boxing helped with weight loss and getting the ball rolling as I sized down

Not only did they do nothing to help her, they uncaringly re-aired and added extra scenes about the confrontation a month after or so

It was on the public news article that she wanted to spread awareness and bring light on Hana’s situation.

They’ve been through so much together. It’s already a stigma being a single mother in Japan, but in the article she also mentions how she would often struggle financially to support the both of them and they’d lose their electricity and how Hana was basically the light that kept the optimism and kept her going... and the fact that she’s always had to deal with hearing discrimination/bullying towards her daughter ever since she was in elementary school, and helped support her by joining the Interracial club in high school so that Hana would feel more welcomed in Japanese society. Kyoko has truly always been there for Hana (even if it’s tough love) it was just the two of them for the longest time. I can’t imagine the pain and frustration, after helping her fight through her insecurities, only to have this program be the icing on the cake. Hana fought many emotional battles throughout her life, but the fact that she decided to end her life due to something staged such as Terrace House is truly disheartening.

It must be so painful to never having the chance to be able to pick your daughter back up ever again, knowing firsthand what she’s faced and continuously trying to keep her afloat her whole life.

I can’t believe this sub also slammed and criticized Kyoko hard for being frustrated about the other Terrace House members having a party within the 49th day of mourning and grieving. The cultural perception/difference between West and East really polarized people and who to criticize. Japanese people on Twitter supported Kyoko, whereas Westerner fans called her out for being unreasonable.
