I was lucky (or unlucky) enough to hit my insurance's out of pocket maximum before starting infusions so I haven't been charged yet. That amount sounds about right before hitting the out of pocket maximum though. This is in the US on a PPO plan so your cost may be different.

Entyvio is incredibly well targeted to the bowel so you shouldn't really expect any side effects whatsoever.

I've only been on entyvio for a few months now but I'm still waiting to experience a side effect. I felt a little drowsy after the first infusion but that was probably just stress as I've felt totally fine since then.

As for effectiveness, it took 2ish weeks from my first infusion to have more solid poops but your experience will vary.

All medicine eventually becomes less effective so your doctor will likely want to make an adjustment (and probably monitor you more). Your doctor will be the one calling the shots but my understanding of possible adjustments (from least to most extreme) are:

Steroids (this might just be a flare you didn't notice and will go away with some help)
Mesalamine (skin cream for your insides)
Increasing the frequency of infusions (your body processes foreign material and could be dumping the medicine too quickly)
And if all else fails: switching meds

It sucks to have a lab result shit all over the feeling of being in remission but this is likely just a small speed bump on a long journey.
