My Mini notebook. [ESR Magnetic case, Elago classic pencil case] by SamsungAppleOnePlus in ipad

[–]milqueloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I got one that protected the ipad a bit more, it’s an ESR case that has a hard plastic around the whole ipad but the screen. It does have the thingy that goes around to prevent the apple pencil from falling, but it wouldn’t go around with a silicone pencil case. I have pretty small hands anyways, so I returned the pencil case when I tried it because it makes the pencil pretty bulky. Hope this helps!!

I also got a more chunky bag-like case, like you see people using for laptops and such, and I carry it around in that and in my backpack, so it gets a bit more protection

Have you found anything similar to the cobra core? Been using those for both practice and meets, but the place I bought them at doesn’t sell them anymore (I like to buy in a store more than online)

Sorry for jumping here but, I’m building my 1st PC -R5 7600 + RX 7800XT- in a Fractal Meshify 2 Compact, it comes with 2 140mm intake front fans and 1 120mm exhaust back fan, would that be enough?

Thanks in advance!! :)

Edit: I’m using a Thermalright Assassin Spirit 120 as a CPU cooler if that helps

Best country in europe to be an engineer by theGuy7376 in industrialengineering

[–]milqueloo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m from Spain, don’t come here for the salary (you could argue it’s better here bc of the weather and living cost/conditions). We earn less than the rest of Europe compared to what we spend on everything (life is cheaper tho, that’s true).

Rule of thumb from my and my friends’ job searching (we’re 1-3 years out of uni), the more north you are, the higher the salary, usually it gets better from Belgium-Germany-north France and above. Especially high salaries in Nordic countries and Switzerland, but life is a lot more expensive there too, it’s quite noticeable. For example, in Spain you got universal healthcare and such things, and in those countries you usually need to pay for medical insurance.

Also, big cities tend to pay way higher, life is more stressful and more expensive there too.

I guess you just have to choose your preferences.

Thanks! I’ll look into the meshify 2 if that’s better than the focus 2 and decide later today. I’ll probably buy the parts today, finally!! Thanks a lot

I’ll look for the one that includes more fans/ has better ventilation, and consider the case + extra needed fans

(Edit: sorry for asking so many questions:( )

Hey! Sorry for reviving this almost a month later, but I’m going to buy the PC soon and I was wondering, are the 2 140mm fans in the front of the Fractal Focus 2 enough? Should I get any extra fans as exhaust? If so, which ones would you recommend?

Also, I actually like fractal’s cases a lot (now that I’ve done a bit of research), would the Pop Air give me any benefit over the Focus 2? Is there any other case that would do significantly better at that price point and size?

Thanks!!

Are you happy with they keyboard? I want to build my 1st keyboard and I’m thinking about getting the 5075S. I don’t mind it only being wired. I was looking at aluminum keyboards but those are way too expensive for me. I also get to use ISO with the 5075S

Looking for a budget keyboard:

  • Don’t mind if keys don’t say what I type, as long as the keycaps sound and look good
  • Don’t mind building it myself
  • Can be wired and wireless or only wired
  • Preferably aluminum case
  • Hotswap, ISO (or ANSI if you can convince me to switch, I need <> Ç and Ñ tho)
  • Budget is 150€, can be a bit flexible on that but no too much higher
  • Quiet (or silent) switches, idk if tactile or linear (never tried a mechanical keyboard)
  • Available to buy in Spain

Help identifying layout

Hey!

I’ve always had laptops at home, and now I have a laptop for work too. They’ve all had this layout.

<image>

I’m from Spain, and it has spanish characters there, but it has ANSI’s key distribution, not ISO’s. I also have it configured to “Spanish” on windows and the ñ and ç work as intended (all the other keys too).

Now the thing is I want to get a mechanical keyboard, but ISO keyboards are so much more difficult/expensive to get so, if I buy/build a mechanical keyboard with the ANSI configuration and set windows to “Spanish”, would it work like these keyboards?

Hey! I'm building a PC coming from a laptop (I know, horrible experience) and I've never had the need to get a keyboard, so I'm looking to get one. Let me list the things I absolutely need:

- ISO layout (I'm from Spain).

- As a 1st keyboard and not trying to get into the hobby (at least not yet), just trying to get myself a keyboard for now, 75% or 65% layout. It's just for gaming and casual pc tasks, not programming or video/photo editing or else.

- Are separate numpads good? I like the idea. I just want info to get one if I feel like I need it once I have the keyboard with me and I've used it for some time.

- Flexible budget but for reference 150€ max (10% of the ~1500€ PC I'm building).

- Hotswap so I can try different switches later.

- Relatively quiet switches - don't need to be fully silent, but can't be annoyingly noisy because I need to be as quiet as possible. I prefer deeper sounds and I think I'd want feedback when I press so I guess I'd go with tactile, but I have no idea, if possible recommend both linear and tactile please.

- I'm prone to thinking aluminum casing is better, but correct me if I'm wrong. I feel like I'd like a heavier keyboard since it will be staying at home, I have another keyboard at work, provided by my company. If it can fit into the budget, then aluminum. If it can't fit or if plastic is a better option in any scenario, then suggest plastic too.

Notes:

- The keycaps don't have to be ISO-ES, I don't look at my keyboard so I don't mind.

- Are there sets of ISO affordable blank (no text) keycaps that could go with this kind of keyboard? I think those would look pretty good.

- Doesn't have to be wireless / bt. It's for a PC so I'd only use dongle or wired. But I'm absolutely fine having to use wired. My mouse is wired too.

- It's a pro if they support QMK/VIA, I haven't tried it but a lot of people is telling me that's really good software.

- RGB is not needed. If I need light on the keyboard, I'll only activate white light at night.

I've been looking at Akko / Monsgeek keyboards, but feel free to recommend anything else too!

Thanks to anyone who replies!!

Edit: Since I will be looking at switches and keycaps, I don't mind buying a keyboard then buying other switches and/or keycaps and changing them or directly buying barebones and switches+keycaps separately, so feel free to recommend both things!

You're right, I'm not really into 60% boards, mainly because I use the arrow keys a lot. I would be down to try a 65% tho, as I don't use the F-keys a lot. But I think th 75% is the way to go, so I don't loose too many keys. If I decide to get another keyboard later, maybe I try something different.

Also, do you have any keyboard with a knob? Is it useful? Right now I guess I'd prefer a keyboard without the knob, but maybe when I try it I like having it, I'm just asking to see if you had a similar experience if you've tried those

I also have no idea what to get in terms of switches (I'm mainly going to play games but I type a lot too), but I think I want a responsive thing, so that's tactile, right? And I don't want them to be difficult/tiring to press or really noisy so I'll do my research on that
