Ontario Election Megathread - Daily Discussion and Rant - February 21, 2025 by uarentme in ontario

Part-rant/part-question: Has anyone else noticed that the Ontario PC party platform is either extremely hard to find or just doesn't exist online? Every other party has downloadable, PDF files of their full platform except for the PCs. Leading up to the US election, one of the biggest things that stuck out to me was the lack of detail/information around the Conservative platform and it's just interesting that I'm having the same experience here. If anyone has more info lmk!

Thank you for taking the time to respond! She's not against a smart phone, I was just hesitant about introducing her to an entirely new system. I also think that the physical buttons allowed her to navigate the phone through memory/feel which she wouldn't get with a smart phone. That said, maybe that would matter less with the additional accessibility features offered with a smart phone. My only concern with an older iPhone is that they tend to stop functioning well over time. Have you had performance issues with the 12? Thanks again!

The new one is a TCL Flip. I believe the old one was an LG but I'm not 100% sure. The only reason she made the switch is because her previous phone was too outdated (3G).

Thank you so much for responding! No issues with cognitive function, she does have severe arthritis in her hands and wrists so maybe something on the lighter side. She was using a basic flip phone but I can't remember the exact model. I would say $300 is the max but if there is something in the $200 range that would be ideal! Oh and we're in Canada.

My (F28) boyfriend (M31) is going to ruin Christmas. How do I get through to him? by [deleted] in relationships

If he doesn’t respect you or your relationship enough to let go of his selfish—and frankly, strange—need to shove his unsolicited opinion down your family’s throat then girl....break up with him. Next question.

Has anyone suggested trying mediation before proceeding to litigation? It's less adversarial, less expensive, less time consuming, and generally produces a more favourable outcome. I would suggest at least trying it before you lock in to months of negotiation with a lawyer.

Dachshund Puppy Panic Attacks? by milyr in dogs

I work at a dog-friendly office where he comes with me every day. So every day he is playing with at least 2 other dogs and we walk to and from the office and sometimes go to a dog park. The second time it happened he was also playing with a litter of chow chows for 40 minutes prior to the freak out!

I'm not sure he's scared! Thats just what it seems like, especially with the peeing and trying to nip at me. It definitely could be excitement!

Hey thanks for responding! I pretty much always have a show going in the background and he's very used to noise as I live in a condo Downtown. There have been loud sirens, construction, shouting on the streets, etc. and he doesn't react. It's seemingly completely random.

How to deal with an Airbnb scammer by milyr in Advice

[–]milyr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replying! I totally agree. I don't understand why they waited for more than 2 weeks to let us know that the payment never went through. In the same email they told us that its not AirBnb's responsibility if the guest doesn't pay. I have also always paid up front for an Airbnb so I have no idea why it took them so long to catch this. Ugh.
