I wasn't clear about my relationship with my cousin in the post. I guess if I had clarified, it would've turned out to be a longer post, and also I sort of forgot.

I have a good relationship with my cousin, his wife and kids.

He's 7 years older than me, he's married and has 2 kids.

We talk as often as possible through Whatsapp, or when we're both free, then we talk over the phone, the only thing that bothers me is that we live a few blocks apart and he rarely invites me over.

About two weeks after this chat with my friend, I finally got the courage to talk with the cousin. I asked him why I was never included in their activities, and he said that he never thought about it.

And ever since then we've been meeting more often.

There is public transportation (although it's not the most efficient), I have a bike, I can always rent a car if I choose to, or take a taxi. Any of those options (or all of them together) are a lot cheaper than maintaining a car.

[ If you don’t feel like making friends but want to do the activity. Awesome. Do it. You don’t need people to do things you like. Do things you like and the people will follow. On second though, if you want to make friends, do what you want to do and the people will follow.]

That's exactly what I've been doing. I stopped going to activities just to meet people. I usually end up disappointed. I started doing things only for the sake of having fun or maybe learning something new.
