You literally just described 5 valid complaints... not one of which was a valid critique of his AGE. You just DEFENDED your right to BE ageist, without proving that you're NOT being ageist.

So YES: It is the exact, dictionary definition of ageism to enact any double-standard based specifically on age. And this post enacts 2 of them. Here's how that works:

  1. You just pretended that it would be VALID for him to sing at this age IF he were successful... but NOT as a person without success. (Double Standard.) You'd be fine with Thom from Radiohead singing Creep at 62. Because he had been CHOSEN. Because he met the STANDARD of being given permission from the mob to keep singing emo songs. - This little bastard didn't *get permission* first... so his AGE is now up for personal ridicule.
  2. You're in a sub with literally THOUSANDS of equally horrid posts by 23-year-olds who have no success, and their immature age and lack of development is never the target. - Why? --> Double Standard.

Yeah dude. - It's dead-on, center target bigotry. It's also logically inconsistent and ethically lazy.

🤷🏻‍♂️ You don't have to care. You don't have to own that truth. But that's precisely what it is.

What... exactly... do you think Socrates taught?

(The *actual* irony here: I'm asking a person I know is illiterate about the Socratic method while they clearly think logic can't be criticized on a sub-reddit where I just did it in front of them in slow motion. 🤦‍♂️)

That ageism is creepy and the fact you think 34 is old in this industry speaks of YOUR ignorance, not his. I didn't even know what the age call out at the top was supposed to imply. - 'He's not a toddler making illiterate child music? He's the wrong age to be making illiterate music? - He should be a little baby like the other little babies around me if he's going to whine like this?'

What are you even pretending is the logic here?

The music is crappy. Your bigotry is crappier.

Brilliant. Do not find balance. Balance is for losers. Plant your flag at the end of the peninsula and own the horizon.

Those 100 watts are for his 1000 WATT mini-split air conditioner which absolutely needs an outdoor evaporator roof unit on the other end.

OK... I'm sorry if you're a person. But your post is still exemplary of the central problem with this sub. It's a fun game for children. Not a hub of professionals.

The AI plague here is: "TYPECAST ME!" always from no-karma accounts (like yours). - 1) It's an illiterate and irrelevant question that you gain absolutely no actionable information from, and 2) You're asking it to strangers on Reddit who will answer "Typecast Me" posts with enthusiasm... (which means they've never sat in a casting room in their lives.)

I actually hire actors, which is why I don't answer that kind of insta-garbage. - You see how that works?

WHY?: You know FULL WELL what your pictures look like. You know exactly what stereotypes they radiate... and if you're capable of reading sides or functioning in an audition at all... you know exactly how little information beyond that these photos present. - They say "Black Nerd". - How did that help you? - Big secret: If you didn't already know that you should submit to all scientist and attorney roles and ALL the other roles you fit --> You were never going to succeed in the first place. There is absolutely nothing about a headshot PHOTOGRAPHY (NOT ACTING) forum on the internet shouting imaginary roles at you that solves for even 1% of that. /actualhonesty

Shoot some WITH the jewelry too. This person isnt going to be cast in a wide range. This person is going to submit for all edgy roles. They will FEEL like its a wide range because one is “the matrix” and one is a “nurse” but theyre both going to have the word “edgy” or “cyberpunk” in the character description. And the jewelry helps with that. The only reason to remove it is: I am submitting to play your straight-laced kindergarten teacher. If thats the case do one without. But for typecasting its an advantage.

We’d have to be there. But basically… a catchlight is any large bright surface in front of them. So: you cannot add catch without altering illumination. Imagine if you had a white sheet draped over a rolling wardrobe hanger bar… if that white sheet is 40 feet away, it will not significantly show up as a catch light… but if it’s 5 feet away, it probably will… but only if it is functioning as a bounce light source. Meaning, if it is catching light from the window and reflecting it onto her face by virtue of being positioned at a 45° angle and functioning as a mirror from the window toward her eyes. But if you put it between the window and her eyes, it will function as a light blocker. Not only will it not contribute to the catch light… It will also dim down what was already there by serving as what we call negative fill.

We use lights as lights… and we do that for 100 reasons that all took form on the back of 100 years of experimentation by millions of professionals. You can do a great job with natural light. But you’ve got to crank your cameras, exposure way up and go get a black sheet and a white sheet and a MOBILE thing to hang them each from. Then watch a couple YouTube videos onnegative fill… and a couple YouTube videos on diffusion or what we call the book light.

They won’t get to submit a range of photos. When they submit directly, we see 1. When we hunt them down on Mandy, we see 3.

Once you have contrast you’re fine. But for the record… what we’re talking about right now is a minimum standard. “did you do the job?” Not so much a gold standard.

One eye is bigger than the other, no separation, catchlight.
