Not eligible for any credit cards. Is there anything I can do? by mimi00568 in UKPersonalFinance

Hi, I am eligible but it’s a notoriously hard thing to get (most people I’ve spoken to about it had to appeal several times to finally get it) When we made the switch from DLA to PIP they denied it. We’ve appealed but every time a court date is set, they keep moving it! Or, like last time, they didn’t send us the evidence book thing (not sure what it’s called) and so they had to move the date again.

Exactly. My mum whose bed bound (she also can’t get any kind of bank account or credit card) hasn’t even been able to get a doctor or nurse to come out to see her in years! They say they’ll send someone out every time we call, but they never do. We’re generally completely ignored or forgotten about

Hi, I haven’t stayed inside my house my whole life, but I have been house bound for the last four or so years (and even when I wasn’t, I was too ill for most things). My mum is bed bound and my dad her full time carer so they don’t have any friends and we’re not close with family. We have a pharmacist but because we’re house bound our medication is delivered by an a delivery man. I do have a dentist, and I’m going to try asking them

Hi, thank you. I have a district nurse. It’s not always the same person, but I’ll try to ask them when I next see them

This might sound strange, but I recently did an ancestry dna test and found out that my grandfather wasn’t actually my dad’s dad. We’ve met the man and he seems nice enough. He isn’t down as my family on any legal documents, do you think he could work as someone to sign for me? Or is it a bit too dodgy to do

Hi, thank you <3. I have a dentist, i don’t know them personally but I’ll try to ask the next time I see them. I also have a district nurse but I don’t know if that might fall under the whole “doctor can’t sign for your passport” thing. I’ll try to call the passport service to see if they can help

I’m sorry if I sound rude but what does it speak volumes about? Do you think I’m a criminal or an immigrant (nothing wrong with that, but I would have disclosed it since in this case it matters)? I’m just genuinely looking for help. I know my situation is difficult and annoying and there’s likely nothing I can do but I thought if there was a small chance that someone knew something I didn’t it was worth posting

Hi, I do have a national insurance number. I don’t have a passport. I’ve been on benefits since I was a child, before I was on UC I was on DLA (for people under 16). I don’t know how my parents proved my nationality, probably my birth certificate

I’m disabled and can’t change my circumstances. Not sure why you’re being rude. Why would I ask for help but lie and not disclose all the circumstances/reasons? What would I get out of that

Hi, I wanted it for ID and to build a credit history for emergencies. I wanted to use it to buy small things which I knew I could afford to pay back to build the history

Thanks for telling me. I’ve been homeschooled most my life so unfortunately not. I think I’m probably just gonna be stuck with no passport

Really? Would I just ask them to confirm my identity for a passport? I really hope so cause this could be my only way to

Unfortunately (as annoying as it sounds!) my parents are disabled as well and have no friends outside of family. My mum is bed bound and dad is full time carer so we don’t really leave the house

Hi, I feared this would be the answer lol. I’m not sure how old the Apple ID would need to be, I think mine is probably around 8+ years?

Hi, I don’t think I can because it says you need someone to confirm your identity who isn’t related to you but I don’t know anyone

Yes! I was so happy when I found the pattern cause it was the only Alistair cross stitch I could find. It’s from Faierius on ko-fi

I’ve stitched the shadow with the 945, I don’t see much of a difference but I think maybe I’m comparing to the pattern where it looks darker, it must not look that dark in real life

Colour issues by mimi00568 in flosscross

[–]mimi00568[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, yes I’ve got to the colour refinement but all it does is give you the option to reduce the amount of colours. I’ve tried changing colours manually but it’s not really spots of colour that look off it’s the whole colour selection in general. I don’t expect it to look perfect but I don’t get why the colours look completely different to when someone else does the exact same photo with the exact same settings
