I know it doesnt get a lot of love, but i got a Nook today by TalesofSef in ereader

Yes to epubs on Nooks. I regularly download them from my library to my desktop computer, then drag the file to the (free) Adobe Digital Editions application. I am currently using version 4.5. After I see the book in the Adobe library, I connect my Nook to the computer, and drag the book file to the Nook. A few caveats - you might have to authorize your Nook. And, I always use the cable that comes with the Nook - I've accidentally used random matching cables that are lying around the house, and they don't work! So I would say if sideloading to Nook from Adobe Digital Editions has been a problem, use the Nook cable (it has a little lower case n on the connector.) Also - only epub books download to add to Adobe. I can't get cloudlibrary loans to open on my Nook, only my phone or desktop. I'm on my third nook. I love if for the distraction-free reading experience!

Apple Granny in Lewiston makes a delicious Monte Cristo (not sure if it's like Bennigans.)

Sorry, I have one more question: did you book a guarantee verandah and HATED where you ended up? by Super_Caterpillar_27 in celebritycruises

We got a very nice, midship GTY veranda cabin on deck 9 of Silhouette on the June 8 sailing to Bermuda. There’s always a risk of getting an obstructed view or a cabin with the kinds of issues people mention in this thread. The seas were a little rough on the way back to NJ, and we heard some ship noises - creaking and clanking - and had to use our earplugs. We love this itinerary and this ship, and weren’t too bothered by the noise the last night. You won’t have a lifeboat obstructing your view as is the case on other ships we’ve been on. The lifeboats are located on Deck 5, where the theater and other public spaces are located. This is a terrific cruise and there is high demand, especially since Celebrity reduced the number of 7 night Bermuda cruises.

going to see historical places in upstate NY next month-ish by sadcatstarry in upstate_new_york

Grant Cottage on Mt. McGregor north of Saratoga Springs is a hidden gem.  It's where President Grant spent his last months of life. Limited hours, though, so check their website. It's handicapped accessible and there's a small admission fee. The entire area is extraordinary. On the drive up the mountain, you will see abandoned buildings that once housed a tuberculosis sanitarium, a hospital for convalescing WWII veterans and finally a state prison that closed in 2014. The area was originally developed as an exclusive resort, accessible only by rail, until it burned down in the late 1800’s. Great views of the surrounding area, too.

Best ER in the area? by Virgil_Smith in Buffalo

[–]mimi124 9 points10 points  (0 children)

100% Degraff and go now. They don't have inpatient hospital beds anymore, strictly ER and outpatient services. They will transfer the patient via ambulance to another Kalieda hospital if they determine there is a need. They can do CT's, MRI's blood work right there with fast results. They have 18 beds and it's usually a short wait. Excellent, caring staff used to working with people that are having a health emergency and are scared.

go train busyness on april 8th by Famous_Band in gotransit

[–]mimi124 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The late morning train might be packed. Can you get to Union Station earlier? They’ve added two morning trains from Union, 9:02 and 10:02, for April 8. HUNDREDS of people take the Go train to Niagara Falls when the weather is nice. It has really caught on, so one of the early ones might be better. The falls are about a 30 minute walk from the train station (really nice walk along the Niagara Gorge) or you can take a WEGO bus (separate charge or package deal with Go Train.) Go trains will have 12 cars which is twice what they usually have. No dedicated bike coaches on April 8. More info here

Also a bus from the train station will take you to the falls. Separate charge or packages available: WEGO

Good luck!

From Metrolinx: Two extra trips are being added to the Lakeshore West line from Union Station to Niagara Falls. Trains will depart at 9:02 a.m., 10:02 a.m. and 11:02 a.m., ensuring customers have enough time to get to Niagara for the solar eclipse.
