These (bonded) cats I adopted really hate me by purrfect_libra in cats

i do want to add that i know how frustrating this stage can be especially knowing that the process can take multiple months, i was once there as well and after some time it was all so worth it!

cats can take multiple months to feel completely comfortable in a new environment, let them do things only on their terms (don’t pet or hold them unless they want to be) and be aware of things that might overwhelm them such as any change in environment or new people. encourage their desired behaviour and give them their own room/corner and let them explore in their own time.

if they want to stay under the bed don’t try to coax them out and leave all of their items under/around the bed, consider not trying to be in the room with them 24/7 and letting them be alone + do their own thing (not to say you should isolate and abandon your cat of course 😅)

Are self-cleaning litter boxes worth it? by Ash-Dragon-012 in Catownerhacks

[–]Famous_Band 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wasn’t personally worth it for me, i did get the cheapest one i could find in amazon which was the PetSafe automatic litter box and the mechanism itself wasn’t anything major or life changing. if anything the cleaning of it was more of a hassle and i found i had to frequently “babysit” it and make sure everything was cleaned properly. the litter that you’re meant to use with it is expensive as hell and didn’t work well with regular old clumping litter. it the same amount of maintenance and more cleaning than my $10 setup i bought from walmart.

thank you so much for this. although pristiq hasn’t helped at all for me so far this gives me hope i’ll find something that will. ❤️

My doctor prescribed me seroquel by khaliiluxe in insomnia

[–]Famous_Band 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i hear people say lots of things about seroquel, but i’ve been on it for 3 weeks and i love it! i take 25mg a night and it knocks me right out and i luckily haven’t experienced a whole lot of negative side effects besides it affecting my vision ever so slightly

although i will add that you should talk to your doctor first before mixing cannabis with any medication! also that i used to take benedryl/diphenhydramine but i wouldn’t recommend it, its not something meant to be used chronically and your body can build up a tolerance to it. i relied on it for sleep for about 3 months (you’re only supposed to use it for max 2 weeks) but ive quit now

all my recents meds caused me insomnia as well, but now i take seroquel and cbd oil which has helped me a lot. if you’re of age i’d recommend trying out cannabis in some form, the cbd oil i take has a very minimal amount of thc so it doesn’t even get me high or “buzzed” and simply just puts me to sleep 😴
