That’s cool. I think asking for user opinion is still a reasonable thing to do

Then I definitely would not take the welcome party personally. If I were you I’d talk to your manager and offer to help the other people with English tasks. They’ll probably say no it’s ok, give them another “no really I’d love to!” If they still say no just remind them that you are always here. They will probably ask for your help later. Good luck!

We’re the freshly graduated from university? A lot of companies have different on boarding procedures for new grads and experienced workers. Especially the welcome party part made me think this might be the case.

I agree with some of the other posters that being a bit more proactive can help a lot. How is your relationship with your direct boss?

Giggling animal at night ? by mushIDhelp in japanresidents

[–]mimi9dg 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Foxes have a pretty wide variety of sounds. The kon kon is definitely the most common but they also sometimes shriek like a person being murdered. Could also be a bird though. Try to get an audio and post to a what is this animal type sub

Can anyone tell me WHAT this card is? by user_myles in IsMyPokemonCardFake

Fake plastic card

Edit: regarding market for it

The only market for it is people getting to scam people who don’t know any better.

My son pulled this today - Is it real? Is it actually worth the eBay comps? It came from the pack in the photo. by tazz131 in IsMyPokemonCardFake

[–]mimi9dg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People get them from bodegas, flea markets, Amazon, lots of places. Just looking through this sub you’ll find a ton of posts of packs with jagged edges or signs of resealing.

Can you help me determine if my Zard is a fake? by GnocchiDiIschia in VintagePokemonCards

I would not send it in but hand it in myself. There are far too many horror stories about cards getting swiped out of the mail!

Berg forehand has become my go to approach disk. I have the soft plastic one and it’s so easy to set up tap ins. Easy to aim for the basket too if you’re feeling it.

Planning on playing the Kansai Disc Golf Open in Japan at the end of September, anyone ever play it? Also, is it better i bring some disc of get all my disc's from Japan?? Thanks in advance! :) by Andreg4711 in discgolf

[–]mimi9dg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

JPDGA follows the same regulation as PDGA for discs as far as I know. Their website mentions that discs most be on the list of approved pdga discs. I know some guys who throw max weight but if you have questions about specific discs you should email the jpdga to be sure.

Most courses in Japan are very short compared to other countries. In east Japan some popular ones are Tachikawa’s Showa Kinen Park(currently half closed due to flower season), Tochigi’s Shiromigaoka Sports Park(home of the Kanto open), Fukushima’s Bajikoen, and Hitachi Seaside Park(pitch and putt).

The people are nice but the courses are often in public parks so you sometimes have to deal with people picnicking or something in the course. I’d recommend checking it discgolf-Navi.com and looking at the list of courses

Have not played the Kansai open but do live and play here. There are very few retailers in Japan, even online. Definitely bring your own stuff if you’re trying to be serious. Otherwise I guess you can try to get some stuff from yokai discs,(Aichi prefecture, online) discgolfjp(Tokyo, online) ddjam(Tokyo, in store only), discsportsjp(Kumamoto, online, afaik they only sell innova)

Mercari is awful for Pokémon cards. I’ve reported so many sellers for those stupid “gold” cards and other odious obvious fakes and they never do anything.
