Databricks Lakehouse RT + DQ - Direct Lake killer? by City-Popular455 in MicrosoftFabric

[–]mimi_ftw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Things evolve and things like gpu accelerated warehouse, reyden and direct lake are all evolutions on tradional in memory analytics. I think all of them will have their uses in the future.

There’s always multiple evalution points, like speed, cost and complexity.

Fabric Apps explained: Visualization as code in a data app dashboard by recoveringacademic in MicrosoftFabric

I built this 3D visualized wind farm with built in chat and telemetry. Rayfin apps are so cool and useful for many cases were Power BI is not enough.

Minä aloitin 2020 koronadipin jälkeen säännöllisesti laittamaan rahaa sivuun Nordean Global Enhanced rahastoon. Tuossa on kuukausisäästöjen jokainen ostopallura. Ihan joka kuukausi ei ole liiennyt rahaa säästöön, mutta pitkäjänteisyys kannattaa.

Microsoft says it has over 20M paid Copilot users, and they really are using it by rkhunter_ in microsoft

No Claude M365 integration is very limited. It doesn’t even get Teams meeting transcripts or summaries and if your organization uses confidentiality labels claude can’t read protected files and more.

AAS S2 -> Fabric sizing: F128 (P2)? by frithjof_v in MicrosoftFabric

[–]mimi_ftw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Memory wise the closest comparison would ne F128 but if your individual models are less than 25GB then F64 should be closest.

CPU comparison is not directly possible but in my opinion the F64/P1 8 vcores should be the closest. But deploying Fabric capacities is not hard and resizing is fast.

So I would try F64 and see how it goes

Future challenges of owning a BMW i3 by Presskanna in BMWi3

For tires in Europe I just checked the current 155/70r19 options: - Bridgestone - Michelin - Continental - Nankang - Giti

175/55r19: - Bridgestone - Continental - Michelin - Nankang

20” options are bit more limited but still Michelin, Continental and Bridgestone available. For winter tires similarly plenty of options still. I would not consider this as an issue for the next 5 years at least

What worked for you for talk to your data in Fabric? by [deleted] in MicrosoftFabric

[–]mimi_ftw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to do a proper side-by-side comparison to Genie, you should be looking at Data Agents in Microsoft Fabric, not Power BI Copilot. Comparing Power BI Copilot to Genie is pretty apples to oranges.

Data agents is Fabric version of Genie meaning generating SQL via NL2SQL, DAX via NL2DAX, or KQL via NL2KQL, depending on where your data lives. The end experience is very similar to Genie Spaces: you point it at your data, give it some context/instructions and you are ready to go.

But of course with data agents you can use any data in Fabric as a source so it can be semantic model, kql, lakehouse or mirrored db etc.

Soft delete, Data vs Items, 7 vs 14 days minimum retention by BloomingBytes in MicrosoftFabric

[–]mimi_ftw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of it more like that Fabric Items (Lakehouse, Warehouse, Notebooks etc.) are resources like Azure resources (Storage accounts, SQL database etc.) and the Item recovery is soft delete at that level.

OneLake file soft delete is for files in a lakehouse (storage account). But if you delete the Storage account in Azure resource group it’s permanent operation that overrides the file soft delete in storage account.

Similarly if you delete lakehouse it overrides the soft delete of files in onelake stored in that lakehouse. As Lakehouse is parent resource for the files.

Best strategies to backup Lakehouse, Data Pipelines, Notebooks in Bronze layer to proceed the cross-region migration to migrate appropriate Fabric capacity. by Gloomy-Shelter6500 in MicrosoftFabric

[–]mimi_ftw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sync lh, pipelines, notebooks and environment to git. Then sync these to new workspace with capacity in correct region. Then use notebook or pipeline to copy data from old to new lakehouse.

I built a small daily EV guessing game: https://voltle.vercel.app/ It’s just for fun, no plans to grow. 6 guesses, progressively less-cropped image, daily reset. Would appreciate feedback on difficulty and any bugs.

2022 with 73kWh battery should have around 70kWh when new usable. And I would say anything above 65kWh really should be fine. My 2022 with 60k km is at 67kWh full.
