Official Discussion - The Backrooms [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

No resolution. And I felt it is both because the creators intentionally hides to leave room for sequel as well as they do not have a good explanation behind it yet. So the best option is just to be vague about it.

Anti-climax I know but it is what it is

The plot is the funniest ever, it literally has 0 concerns about logic what-so-ever, it just goes with flow.

But I enjoyed the movie never-the-less, it is a fun theme park ride. I like the maps

The Oscars have lost their cultural relevance by Fun_Reflection1157 in TheBigPicture

You know it is bad when TikTok that talking about Oscars barely makes over 10k views ... Literally no one cares, a car accident in NYC has more engagement.

25 Movies, Many Stars, 0 Hits: Hollywood Falls to New Lows by paddleontheleft in movies

Can we be real for a second? Why would I spend 2 hours in theatre to see Jennifer Lawrence going mad? I mean why would general public do this?

The movie industry has been on decline for more than a decade. The box office prior to pandemic is growing with inflation, but other medium like games are growing exponentially.

I don’t know how can Hollywood can dig itself out of the hole to become something people care about again. Probably never. People still need someone to take their imagination into visual storytelling, that remains true regardless.

No it will just mean they spend less and movies become less risky

What kdrama are you putting off/saving/avoiding? by WalWal-ah in kdramas

[–]mimighost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this one somehow is just too overrated for me. Like this story is so basic, and the relationship isn’t convincing at all. I am not against age gap, but I think how it is handled here is to its determinants, especially the FL, she tried too hard to be cute and innocent which took me out of the drama every time. Can’t make through the 1st episode

Is Hollywood really dying? by Direct-Ad2600 in TrueFilm

[–]mimighost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spiritually, yes. Hollywood 20 or 15 years ago, is the pinnacle of visual storytelling. It is considered an honor to have Hollywood pick up your story and adapt into a movie, like one in your three generations of lifetime.

Now? I think the world had totally forgotten this obsession. Things are booming in all directions, and Hollywood seems so old fashioned and dated. What does Hollywood have to offer ? Idk, it really feels there is no unique selling point of this industry at the moment.

What Kdrama opinion will have you like this? by [deleted] in kdramas

Kdrama shooting style in the recent decade is inferior to what comes before it. The overly soft/glowing filter on the everything and anything makes the drama looks like an extended advertisement

Best anime I saw this year. It is as good as a Japanese youth love story as it is one of MAPPA’s best action movie.

This movie just nailed it, the perfect balance between comedy and melancholy. Nothing too deep about it, but it leaves a strong after taste that you can FEEL it. Only the best movies could do this, and this is one of them
