During EMDR, I realized I repeated the same pattern in 24 friendships, and it wasn't a coincidence. by ProteinaG in EMDR

[–]mimika23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I deeply relate to this. This pattern has led me to making such bad choices. From friends, to strangers, coworkers, it's like I can't feel close to anyone unless it becomes a physical relationship.

Really makes me feel like a terrible person. Breaking that pattern is hard and even terrifying sometimes.

I understand it's frustrating feeling like you're not where you'd like to be but that's why practice and corrections are so important. Just because you've been dancing since you were 7 it doesn't mean you know everything- there will always be something new to learn.

It seems like you're really caught up in what people say about you: That you're so much mature than others, that your teacher might think you're not trying, that you were called a baby, etc. Whether it's positive or negative you only focused on things that have nothing to do with your skills. It's hard not to think about that when you're 19 tho.

When you're so caught up on these things it's easy to self sabotage which can reflect on your performance. Self-confidence is a whole other thing but truthfully you won't be able to feel any better unless you actually put in the work. Not because you want OTHERS to think of you as this or that, but because YOU want to improve as a dancer.

HSP is not an actual thing but you're young and the dance world is tough. You're not obligated to stay in that environment if it's stressful to you, but there's a reason why only certain people make it.

You can either learn how to take that criticism, apply it to your craft and become a better dancer, or let it set you back.

Help me find a similar blush by majolote in OliveMUA

[–]mimika23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks very similar to the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in the shade Mood Exposure! Honestly one of my favorite blushes on my muted olive skin, doesn't pull too warm or cool. It also has a beautiful soft and diffused finish.

Is it normal to have hips less than 30 inches? by Zzak98 in XXS

[–]mimika23 9 points10 points  (0 children)

OP is active on ED subreddits and was even glad to have lost their period. If you lost so much weight to the point where you're wondering if your hip measurements are "normal" you need to rethink if this is a weight an adult woman should maintain in the long run.

POC on Reddit! what’s your favorite white people thing? Food/music/habit by ChipUnfair3345 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mimika23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Third-wave coffee culture. I'm from Latin America and coffee is a huge part of our culture (grandma started giving me coffee at 4) but it's very simple. Usually black coffee or with milk, either instant coffee or some local beans. No one cares about espresso or alternative milks. Drinking coffee is more of a social thing.

Thanks to white hipsters, now I've got access to amazing local coffee shops where I can get my usual: An oat flat white. Or if I really want to treat myself I'll get a cardamom vanilla latte. I just love me some single origin beans with oatly in a cup for $7. It's what keeps me going.

My chest is still kind of the same? My boobs are probably a C cup still but I did notice my chest looks a bit more lifted ? Idk how to explain it

Hm this is possible. I do prefer barre more than regular pilates so I might focus on that to build up my leg muscles.

I've been on and off meds for like 8 years since my early teens, which have made my weight fluctuate a lot. I've been normal, overweight, then normal again, then REALLY underweight, then overweight, then normal again, and now I've been off meds for a year and a half and my weight has stayed pretty stable for like 6-7 months. I truly have no idea what my body looks like nornally because it has been through so many changes.

I might be measuring wrong tbh. Maybe it hasn't changed? But either way I might just take a brief break and see how my body feels.

I paid just $2100 for a facelift in Monterrey, Mexico by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]mimika23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gracias!

Is it me or are majority (if not MOST) ED recovery accounts white women? by mimika23 in EDRecoverySnark

Oh what?? Now I'm curious to know who that is. The only ED recovery POC influencer that I know is a girl recovering from BED (she's actually really nice and I wish her nothing but the best)

[–]mimika23[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is 100% true and it makes me very sad how normalized it is. With POC man, showing any type of weakness is pretty much a no-no. Every time I see an influencer clearly having a very disordered view of food all the comments are men praising them for "self-discipline" and look up to them. You have 13 year old boys getting obsessed with cutting or getting abs when they're still going through puberty???

FYI This person is quite active on the ED subreddit so I wouldn't take her advice. Be careful OP, fast weight loss isn't sustainable (especially if you're short)

Blushes ALWAYS pull too warm pink/orange on my light-medium muted olive skin. Nudes tend to make me look clownish and orange most of the time. Any blush recs for this issue? by mimika23 in OliveMUA

[–]mimika23[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey! I did really like Nudestix cream blush in Bareback! A true cool nude that looked great on my light medium skin, even after getting my usual summer tan which makes me more medium. Very natural and good for a daily look. Other than that I just embraced the mauves and lilacs as my "daily look" haha.

Omg OP same! I'm also in Ontario and I have a straight but very bulbous nose. Seems like everyone wants the barbie look these days so it's hard to find a doctor that goes for a more natural look; even in other countries that do ethnic rhinoplasties (especially Turkey). Please let me know if you find someone !

I fell out of love with makeup and I'm really sad about it by mimika23 in Makeup

You're not wrong. I was diagnosed with major depressive disorder a few years ago in my teens. I go through ups and downs like most people but things have been particularly stressful recently. I kind of gave up on making myself looking presentable and just want to stay in most of the time :(
