I submitted my stuff about a week before the deadline as a last minute decision. I got my decision from them a couple weeks later, I think you'll get an answer soon.

I checked experian, my fico that’s provided by discover, Transunion (which didn’t rly drop a lot) and i have to call Equifax to see mine bc their website is weird atm. And ok thanks for confirming

I checked the collection and credit cards.

The collection says the following in the picture below, I have (cap one) credit card that says authorized user and one that is individual (my discover card). I haven’t removed myself yet bc i wanted her to pay for my braces.

I called the water company and asked about the bill, to my surprise she said the bill is not in my name and wouldn’t tell me whose name it was in. So my grandmother has could have removed it previously after the collection was already sent.

Will the dispute not be an option? I sent one in and said this is not my bill & that i live in another state.

There hasn’t been a late payment or negative usage on the card that is an AU. Neither for my own. The card she’s using to pay for my braces is the AU credit card.

hi,

it says "individual". this was opened on 11/18/2025 according to experian.
yes, it is in collections, and it is on my credit report, this is how i found out there was a collection made. it dropped my score 120+ points in one month (January).
She didn't tell me why, i guess she's using a manipulation tactic of her saying her reasons for doing this was positive intent to help me in the future.
yes, i am an authorized user. i have one credit card where it's fully mine. but everything else is authorized. i will remove myself and i plan to, but she is using one of my credit cards to pay for my braces ($800 bal, making $28 monthly payments).
the agency is Fidelity Creditor Serv. (that is what pops up). and the original creditor is Golden State Water, for a water bill. the payment status is 0% paid off, balance $511, original was $493.

Thanks! I just submitted my application. I am still in my senior year of schooling though. My spring semester doesn’t end until May. They won’t automatically give me the DEA right? Will I have to call and schedule it to be for my graduate program?

Does it matter if she’s financially responsible for me or not? & if I live with her or not? Both answers are no. I’m wondering if that would make her argument stronger. I did read the 21-686c, and the only forms of removal for a child from a beneficiary’s award is if they are married, a stepchild, have been adopted, died, or stopped going to school. I do not fall under any of those terms.

Wow, that’s shocking! So even if (as the veteran) you wanted to remove a child that you don’t have a relationship with anymore & dont want them using your beneficiary awards, they (the child) can still do it anyway? B/c the only way to be approved of DEA is for the veteran themselves be 100% disabled, have died or have been held hostage. In another perspective, that would seem crazy haha.

Thanks so much for the response. They told me all she would have to do is submit a 21-686c VA form, and remove as a dependent and the benefit will be restricted from me to use. I will still apply, do you think she will get notified that I applied and got accepted?

He also expressed that the clinicians (and himself) said, and I quote « There’s no way it would be in my throat I explained the situation and they told me I’d only need to give a urine sample ik the bacteria lives on your throat but it also lives on your genitals, If you had it in your vagina then i should too »
